I think the FE Vehicon has the same problem. From what I've heard.

I really hope platic push clip wheel mounting isn't the wave of the future as compare to metal pin axles. Because, yeah, it kinda helps that a car be able to roll reasonably well.

Heck my kids love transformers but unlike most here, their TFs spend most of their time in alt mode.

well that really puts me off buying either of them now. i roll my transformers around all the time and if they don't roll that's a major problem for me.

Can't wait to actually own a deluxe Vehicon.
One thing I've found in figuring out how a vehicle drags is run it across a velveteen surface. My couch has that material that if you slide your hand one way, it leaves a line, but if you slide it back, it 'erases' the line. Usually if a car-former doesn't move well, I run it over this material to figure out where it's dragging as the offending area leaves a line of its own.

Why not just put it on a flat surface like a table look at it from the side at eye level?

That works too, but I like using the fabric since it can better show if a wheel is attached off center.

The problem isn't that the wheels don't turn. They turn fine. It's just the junk under the figures scrapes along the ground making the back wheels superfluous.

My Roadbuster works fine but my orange one has a slightly loose front wheel - I'll hit it with a hammer one day when I can be bothered.

I don't think so. There isn't anything under the figures dragging on either of mine, yet they still don't roll well.
