I'm really excited about the FOC figures. We can never have enough Swindles, and some of the figures like Sideswipe and Fireflight look pretty unbelievable.

Classicverse figures will come out for years and years to come--Hasbro needs to strike while the iron is hot for FOC.

And I am hping the new movie gas different (better, hardly can get any worse) designs so it would be a new movie line rather than a follo9w up of what we had so far.

As for classics, I donĀ“t mind if hasbro is not making them now or even in the case it stops, third parties make those better even if more expensive.

Movie line is certainly not permanently dead. There will be a toyline for TF4 110% for sure.

The Generations line has covered many "Generations" before, it's currently focused on FoC to tie into the game, just like we got WfC toys before. It'll swing back to G1 homages eventually.

For Masterpiece, MP-10 is coming over, and there's no reason that a MP-11/12 release is impossible. Sunstorm might not make it over, much like the Convoy redecos and Thundercracker before him.

The one thing that might be "dead" are US G1 reissues. We get them here and there, but they don't ever seem to do too well business-wise. For the fans who want G1 reissues, most are dedicated enough to import.

MP-10 the lone G1 Transformer Released By Hasbro this year

If you do not count Botcon. The MP-10 is the lone G1 inspired Transformer Released By Hasbro this year. Seems like they have all but forgotten the G1 collector this year. In the beginning of 2011 it seems we were spoiled. Then everything fell off by the time DOTM stuff hit. Luckily many of these figures ended up at the discount stores otherwise we may have never of seen them.

List of Hasbro G1 inspired releases from 2011

    Legends

    Optimus Prime
    Megatron
    Trailbreaker
    Starscream
    Bumblebee (Repaint)
    Prowl

    Scout

    Chopsaw (Repaint)
    Windcharger

    Deluxe

    Wheeljack (Retool)
    Thundercracker (Repaint)
    Scourge
    Kup
    Skyshadow (Repaint)
    Junkheap (Repaint)
    Wreckgar
    Jazz
    Tracks
    G2 Optimus Prime
    Bumblebee (Repaint)
Battle in Space Rodimus & Cyclonus (Repaints)
    Perceptor
    Warpath
    Fallback (Repaint)
    Mindet (Repaint)
    Skullgrin (Repaint)
    Thunderwing

    Voyager

    Grapple (Retool)
    Lugnut
    Strafe (Repaint)
    Deep Dive (Repaint)

    Masterpiece

    Rodimus Prime

    Supreme

    Amazon Unicron (Repaint)

Considering how many figures were released last year with 17 new molds , I think it is a shame that we are getting nothing as far as G1 inspired stuff goes. I only hope the Asian Classics Exclusives dropping later this year will be easy to obtain. Shame all of them are repaints or retools. No new molds!!!

War/Fall of Cybertron is G1. They just aren't updated Earth-mode G1 like Classics.

And I find it amusing that you consider Chopsaw, Fallback, Mindset, Strafe, and Deep Dive "G1", but FOC Shockwave isn't.

I am only including them as they are part of the Classics Line supposedly.

Normally I would not include them as they are repaints of Crappy Movie figs. Supposedly Fallback is a update to Outback and Strafe is one of those Voyagers released as a representation of a Gestalt team. There have been many of those releases prior (Onslaught , Silverbolt ETC.) .

Although the WFC and FOC are G1 inspired I do not include them as they are not part of the Classics / G1 toylines.

    No it isn't.

No, they just have a current show and video game to focus on rather than classic stuff like G1.

A sub-line that has War For Cybertron , Fall Of Cybertron , IDW , Novel , and G1 characters in it. Kind of like how the Star Wars line now has Clone Wars and several Movie lines under one title.

Yeah, didn't the OP already start the same exact thread before? Something change since then? I am confuseded.

Just for the record, if MP10 is the only G1 figure to be released this year, then I am a happy puppy. That is enough for me, and I am a G1 whore. Here are my reasons:

1- More money to spend on G1 figures
2- Optimus comes with a trailer. Yes a trailer!!! Woohoo.
3- More money to buy the better G1 figures made by 3rd Party companies

Yes, he did. Right after Botcon IIRC.

Edit: Oh yeah, sign me up for the "Holy crap, Hasbro MP-10 comes with a trailer!?!? Freaking AWESOME!!!" club.

As much as G1 fans have gotten over the years, Hasbro has not forgot about the series. Its the other series between G1 and Bay movies, that Hasbro pretty much looks away from besides the rare mass release update/nod or by exclusive, which only some of blank series fans can get.

Some of us would be more than happy to trade places and see one of our beloved characters in the MP line.

I'd rather Hasbro continue trying to develop and expand the brand rather than keep trying to cater to the G1 collectors.

I'd rather they look forward and concentrate on Prime/Generations. The last 5-6 years have been fantastic for G1 homages, but it's nice to see Hasbro focusing their efforts elsewhere for a change.

This is some pretty inconsistent analysis.
