I went to swap this guy's arms with another Kreon's and the shoulder post just popped off with the rest of the arm, no warning or anything. Not too miffed since I have 2 other Crankstarts, but worried just how easily it broke.
Getting the remnants of that post out was a major pain.

I've popped other Kreon arms off without incident, so I don't think I did anything excessive.

    New custom Kreon:

I hope they'll release an official version of Sunstreaker with a correct helmet, but a repainted Starscream helmet gets the job done for now.

The painted yellow on the arms gives this guy a neat look, I got the idea from the human SWAT Kreon.

Still painting the torso details on my customs, although I keep looking for some kind of transfer medium that would give a more even look. I'm not a big fan of using decals for the entire chest, I only use them for logos and numbers, etc.

    More to come...

    Hi strangers!

I really, really like that Sunstreaker... And I'll be sure to copy it ;)

I understand what you say about decals but I really can't paint as accurately and neatly as that, so will stick with my cheat method :)

Anyway, after a little while off from making the little fellas, here are two of my favourite Bots in Kreon form. I know I said I'd have some Cons ready when I came back, and I'm working on it, but hey, I love them good guys.

I've only just realised that in my excitement I haven't given Blaster his symbol yet. Oops.

Those are awesome! I couldn't think of a good way to do Blaster with current pieces, but that's great.

The face on Tracks is really cool. I'm working on a custom for him right now too using some different pieces, it'll be neat to compare the different approaches.

Thanks! I've had to work on a few faces as not everyone is grey :)

Also I've pressed a lot of 'human' parts into service which means starting from scratch face-wise anyway.

Right, if I don't have a Con ready for my next post you can all pelt me with rotten fruit or something.

Love the customs! I ought to work on some of my own (I have about a dozen spare Kreons lying about)...

I love these little guys! I'd love to turn my human Kreons into TFs but its hard getting extra helmets etc over here in Australia.

Could do with some minor tweaks, like a black vest and yellow guns.
    Alternatively, Mindwipe:
    Doesn't need the vest...
I almost have enough parts to make both of them, just one of them needs to use another set of legs.

This makes an excellent start to Beast Era Ravage:
Just needs a proper black cat head. Maybe this?
    Eh...
Does Lego have a cat head I can use?

As far as whole heads go? Don't believe so. You could probably try doing something with a Catwoman cowl piece (55705 or 98729) though.

While fiddling with these two, I can't help but want Kre-O sets to have Kreons that are little partners to the big brick-built bot: Kreon Rumble/Frenzy/etc. and Kre-O Soundwave, Kreon Lord Zarak and Kre-O Skorponok, Kreon inner robot and Kre-O Pretender shell, etc..

    EDIT:
That's a shame. I thought for sure they'd have a feline head, given they have all sorts of odd heads and anthro-cats-and-dogs always seem to be popular. Catwoman's cowl is a bit "cute" for Ravage, I think.

It's the only head piece I can think of that's specifically cat. There's other animal heads and headpieces which could achieve a somewhat similar look if you'd be willing to compromise (and/or modify) slightly.

Eh, I think I may just stick with Kreon parts instead.

On a completely unrelated note, this seller on ebay has a lot of interesting customs for sale. Quality is hit or miss, but worth a look: byfff7 | eBay

Here is my first rebuild of Prowl. Bought another Jazz set to do it with, used the balljoint blocks and maybe the odd other piece like the right angle but not allot more than that.

The build sorts out some the proportion problems with the original Prowl, kept allot of the make-up of his legs, arms and chest. He's still around the same height he was i think... He's nice and solid like the other G1 bots except maybe he's a little blocky coloring and in bricks. But i'm reasonably happy with him for time being.

My God. What have you done. Look what your careless hands have wrought.
Each moment this unnatural beast lives is like a thousand years of misery. Look in its brown eyes. It longs for death.
Select the pistol, and then, select your horse --- er, creation.

Sooooo... my attempt at a combiner didn't quite go so well.
He can grab and hold a Kreon, so that's good.
No real knees or elbows to speak of (they can swivel, though), but he can tip-toe. That's... something.
Thumbs up! But only from this odd angle...
All too easily comes apart. Perhaps for the best.
