That just means either hasbro lost the rights to the name, or someone found it somehow "unethical" and being a toy company, they were forced to change it.

 

I'm absolutely sure they didn't loose the name. They used it for a Bot Shot just last year, and are again using it later this year for the Masterpiece figure.

 

Not to mention that, only one wave later, there's a Seawing.

Sentinel's art always had a red torso, but the Kreon had a yellow one. Apologies if you knew that.

Good call on Starscream. Saw body pieces but didn't look closely enough. A bit disappointing if it's true for those who already have them. Prowl would make sense in the other pack if it's all reprints. Curious about the price now...

 

How much are these 5-packs and when are they supposed to be out? Not that it matters as TRU is really the only place around here that has Kre-o stuff now. At least the new stuff anyway.

What are those swords from in the custom pics? Shapeways stuff?

 

The red swords for my Dinobots are from Lego figures. I bought a 10 pack of them cheap on ebay.

 

They look like the Lego knight swords, either a red version or painted red

the swords are from lego knights kingdom, also found some in enlighten knight sets which are imitation lego sets from china.

This evening while reworking my grimlock kreon (big thanks to everyone who has shown off a custom), i thought about how to make a micro changer. it cant be done, unless you make a larger dino for him to ride in, HASBRO TAKE NOTE, how about a grimlock dino in playscale with a kreon seat placed as the diaclone t-rex, with a folding hatch cockpit. just a thought. Im thinking of a smaller set like decepticon ambush, as grimlock will probably not see a microchanger release.

It's doable...after a fashion. Take his helmet off, spin the head backwards, and start piling angled or sloped elements on the peg on top of his head. Put a vest on him, and you could start using elements on the vest peg to make a tail (think skorponok, but going down instead of up). Granted, it will still involve quite a bit of imagination to pretend the result is a T-rex...but not that much more than pretending any other micro-changer is what it is supposed to be.

 

Very nice decal. if don't mind me asking was wondering how you put it on the figure, looks very well done.

 

Why not for his T-Rex mode, take one of the beast helmets that come with the Predaking combiners, repaint it gray and slide that onto Grimlock's face, his normal kreon hands and legs are the T-rex hands and legs, and take a flak jacket (or the new four-pegged backpacks that come with the combiners) and build the tail/rear section off of that? And use the helmet you've been using for robot mode when he's in robot mode.

So I finally:

1. got my Combiners; and

2. got to grips with my phobia of bastardising legit releases.

I didn't need two different Vortexes. What was that crazy pink and tan version all about anyway? Madness. It looked more like Spinister, whose actual figure was way too bland.

*cue lightbulb*

I took parts from candy-coloured Vortex, parts from Spinister, and a spare grey set of rotor blades, and made... Spinister.

Then I was looking at the tan limbs and wondering what use I could put them to.

*cue another lightbulb*
