Anyone started army building the Vehicons or Autotroopers yet? I'm going to end up with so many of the little buggers.

I honestly thought about troopbuilding them for a minute, than realized, it isn't worth doing so. I think the other night I came to a scary realization about my collecting. But, I don't want to travel down that dark train of thought again.

I am a little upset at a couple things. 1) The price of the Devy set, and 2) the fact that I am virtually forced to buy all the sets in order to attain the dark energon weapon pieces. I think the set I really didn't want, would be the Bumblebee set. About the only stuff I want out of there is the dog and the dark energon piece.

Started working on a new transformable Kre-O Bumblebee (big size). Pretty tricky to squeeze him into a cohesive car with just Kre-O joints...

Do you have any Lego bricks to supplement that? Technic pieces in particular can make life a whole lot easier.

I do, but I'm not using them, I want to make my models 100% Kre-O!

If it's anything like the Optimus Prime, just give it some time and stores will clearance it out when it doesn't sell. It seems like every retail chain has that guy on clearance right now; if Optimus can't sell, Devastator doesn't stand a chance and is bound for clearance.

    /toy/ - Toys

Someone got the Waspinator and Scorponok figures and uploaded pics on /toy/. Both look great, Waspinator looks better without his helmet or armor.

    ^ damn I'm jealous!

As an aside, does anyone else wish Kreo would move away from the robot/vehicle builds and more towards location sets? I would love to have an Autobot base, the Nemesis or hell, even a citiformer!

Hope you guys don't mind me tossing this in here....

I'm nto a Kre-o collector so where better to ask a Kre-o question than in the Kre-o appreciation thread.

What are the newest, hard to find released Kre-o's on the market?? A friend hooked me up recently and his soon likes the Kre-o's so I'm thinking if I can find some hard to find ones as a thank you gift, it would be awesome. Thanks in advance for the help.

Waspinator needs some more yellow, aside from that he looks good.

As it stands, none of the Kreo sets are rare or tough to find. Just get him whichever set that has a character he likes.

If you want a recommendation though, I'd suggest the Decepticon Ambush set and the Cycle Chase set. They are reasonably cheap, and you'll get 8 kreons and two vehicles.

Yea, that is one awesome thing about Kre-O; you can go to almost any store and find virtually every set.

I can see them dropping the price eventually. But, in all fairness, Optimus was only $60. I'd probably jumped on Devy if he started at $60.

    Ebay:
A month and a half ago, I only had the small Bumblebee and Prime. Then my wife got me the big prime for Father's Day ($20 at a flea market!). I loved that sucker. Then I got Ratchet on clearance at Wal Mart. Then Prowl and Jazz at Target. Now...I have all of the first wave.

I've really enjoyed doing the KreO builds with my kids. My 5 year old is easily able to sort pieces, and if I tell her what we're looking for, she enjoys looking and finding them, and occasionally adding a piece onto the figure. My 8 year old is getting better at following the directions on her own, so we'll work side by side on different figures so she can ask questions. The baby finds the pieces a bit bland, but with fun textures. :)

So far, I've put all the sets in vehicle mode, with Megatron still unopened, though that's probably going to happen today. Robot modes probably start tomorrow.

For those who have kids, KreO is a great way to spend time with them. I encourage you to let them help.

I used to love Kre-O, until I started collecting Lego and now they come off as a little substandard. I still collect them, for the Kreons, but the big figures seems floppy and fall apart FAR too easily.

The Kreons, however, ARE SO ADORABLE!

Gotta agree. Some of my best memories are putting together Lego sets with my dad. I don't have any kids, but I do have a two year old nephew. I tried introducing him to Kreo sets, but he had no interest. Plus, I don't particularly trust him with some of the smaller pieces. He loves Duplo blocks though.
