Here is something that will make you appreciate the fact that Costco has Megatron/Sideswipe 2 packs for a mere $17 right now. I went to Walmart and found they "clearance" priced Kre-O Megatron for the low low price of $69.97! This isn't just a sticker mistake either, it rings up as $69.97!

Even the Walmart web site lists them as $29.97!

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Kre-O-Transformers-Megatron/16386324

This isn't the first time I've seen Walmart clear out Transformers for higher than their original price, and no one there seems to know why when I point it out. In fact no one even seems to know who sets the clearance prices!

    "Clearanced" for $70?! The hell?

While not "clearanced", a local Boscov's has been trying to sell the Sideswipe sets at $60.

Man, I wish my Costcos still had those two-packs. I still want Starscream and having Prowl with him is great as I'd rather have him over Sideswipe. Still kind of want Megatron. I just don't like him as a truck. Good thing the Battle for Energon set exists. Costco probably has the cheapest Kre-Os will ever be seen in stores.

Going to start hitting Walgreens for wave 1. I only knew about the preview wave way back because I randomly came across them at Walgreens. Only problem is that Walgreens marks things up.

My wife and I saw the latest wave of Kreo Microchangers at Walgreens and we grabbed two random ones each. I got Singe and Warpath and she got Bludgeon and Blast Off. I'm really digging these. They're very fun to mess around with.

well I just built the Vortex set I got for Christmas. I tried to switch out the dark energon torso, it felt like I was gonna break Vortex trying to pull his ar off. Is that normal?

Maybe someone with more experience can get into that but I'm too scared to take Kreon arms off. Some of my Kreons have really lose arms right out of the box. Just hope the arms don't end up as loose as Waspinator's arm attachments. Not sure if anything's changed with the newer Energon weapon sets but I think these Kreons are fundamentally made so the arms come off for customizations. It'd be silly otherwise to have the Energon torsos. Perhaps someone who makes customs can clarify.

Finally got a Starscream/Prowl set. I messed up building Starscream's jet mode... I wish more of the instruction pictures had the arrow to tell you where pieces go. They do it sometimes but to have to track down the already placed pieces on the picture when Starscream's pretty much all gray gets annoying. And being two types of gray doesn't help because sometimes I got confused on which gray piece I needed. End result has two parallel pieces but of two grays since I messed up somewhere. I at least was able to build the jet with no extra pieces barring robot-only pieces and the ladder. Will probably open my Wheeljack set soon and compare if they've learned from the past.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the new set of Microchangers.

I was nervous about popping Kreon arms off at first, but after removing and replacing them a few times I'm a lot more confident in it. I'd recommend trying it out on a figure you don't care that much about first, and rotate the arm up from a neutral position (think: doing a jumping jack), until you get the hang of it.
But be careful. You can tear apart a shoulder post if you're not paying attention or misapplying force.

The Kreons are meant to be entirely interchangable, not like with Lego where the arms and legs are stuck with the torso and hips, respectively.

Hey guys, have you had any issues with optimus prime quality control? We have bumble bee but he is not as bad.

My sons OP back pack and other pieces are falling off like the figure is 20 years old and will not stay on. Plus his leg joints are so loose he wont even stand up. :(

    Lazy customs FTW!

1st: No particular characters. First one from the left has a modified Scorponok helmet. The one on the far right is one I showed before, but I gave him a regular hand. Looks like a non-Prime Knock Out to me.

2nd: The yellow/orange helicopter has a modified Galvatron cannon (back of Galvatron cannon, a small circular piece, and one of Spinister's cannons). The other is a non-beast Waspinator with a jet pack. I painted the helmet with a little black.

3rd: Same figures as pic two, but just showing helicopter mode and the Waspinator jet pack.

4th: Two new Constructicons. I made the gun on the far right with some extra pieces. The barrels spins around freely if you want it to.

5th: Official Springer Kreon and a car version of Springer I made since the official one is just the helicopter.

Can't say I've had problems with the backpack falling off on mine. Leg joints are another story... I have him somewhat leaning against the wall, the larger sets from the first series seem to have some leg issues because of their broad upper torsos (least that's my guess).
