So my son showed me a tractor toy he got in his kindersurprise yesterday, and after closer inspection, the bulldozer transformers into a leo-prime of sorts...or i guess just a lion, but still...neat find!

oh, and the front legs contain an automorph feature which reveals the head

Hey, that's pretty nice, for its size. I wonder if there are more variations of these transforming vehicles?

I LOVE Kinder toys - unfortunately they aren't available in the US. I think it has something to do with choking hazard laws.

Also, I thought the toys were better back in the day then the ones they have now, but this is very awesome.

Totally agree. I haven't been very impressed with teh Kinder toys for the last couple of years. I can definitely agree that what you got was a very cool "surprise".

Egg shells made from chocolate which contains small toys or figurines. It's around for quite some time.

You can sometimes find the chocolate on its own in little bars. My Grandma sends me some every once in a while, and I just started seeing it in stores like last year. Sucks that there's no toy, but...

You down play the chocolate way too much. The egg has an outer shell of milk chocolate and a white chocolate inside. The taste is unforgetable.

And I can date Kinder suprise as far back as 1980 but I wouldn't be surprised if has been around much longer.

As for the toys, yes they are not what they use to be, I miss the building aspect. Although the super sized Easter Kinder eggs have awesome toys in them.

I used to love Kinder Eggs. When I was a kid they'd sometimes contain robot figures that you could pop apart and mix and match the bodyparts with other robot figures in the set to create new ones. I'd save some pocket money and buy an egg after school each day. Zod knows what they cost now. A quid or something I bet.
These days the toys inside are a bit shit (although the dozerbeast above seems to say different) and whenever I treat my niece to a Kinder Egg it contains some rubbish like a flimsy throwing cross thing or a monkey that throws a banana. Back in the old days you'd get figures that looked kinda like Playmobile figures.

They've ruined the little plastic egg inside now though by hinging the two halves together. When they were separate halves they were great for firing at people by squeezing one end.

Well the Ferraro company sell other stuff in the US but for Kinder branded, non-toy stuff, I've found that World Market sell it.

Hah, I got one of those giant ones for Christmas once.

And yeah, that's the thing about Kinder chocolate, milk layered with white. And they makes all kinds of varieties. I really like the hippos.

You're right. Although i am more of a bitter chocolate guy, i loved the taste of it as much as i loved the toys. twenty years ago, i had quite a collection of them. in fact i bought last four or five about 3 years ago, all of them were containing cute little ice age figurines (Scrat being my favourite). They're still sitting on my book shelf.

I never saw the giant ones though.

I was personally never a fan of the little figurines. When I was a kid I wanted a proper toy in my egg, not an ornament.
