Someone asked about buying replacement screws. Has anyone found a place that sells a variety of the types of screws that have been used in transformers?

    Ebay:

i actually asked FrenzyRumble this a while back when i was looking for new screws for a G1 Megatron and he told me he just used junkformers he collected over the years. i took his suggestion and went to ebay and found an old junk lot i bought for about $14 that included plenty of screws of every size. you just have to take all of the junkers apart and seperate the screws by size into little containers.

Hobby screws. You'll have to figure measurements on your own.

Well, soaking them helps a little, but in the end, the only thing that got the heads nice and shiny again was fine grit sandpaper. Screws that looked like they've been sitting in water for almost decade now look almost brand new.

My son's happy with how they look now, so that works for me!

I use Brasso. You can find it at Homedepot. Just a little dab then buff it off with a microfiber cloth. For heavier rust let it sit for 30 minutes, repeat as needed.

Hmmm, maybe I'll grab a can of this next time I'm at HomeDepot. I'm curious now since you said all you need to wipe off the rust is a microfiber cloth. Must be some potent stuff.
