Turboedguy those look really cool all together like that. Someday I hope to be able to do something similar for Huffer. I'm in the very early stages.
Thanks. Its not as tough as the 2nd series is being. But i'm patient, they'll all be mine eventually.
Awesome thread, lots of mouth-watering stuff in here I haven't seen before and/or in a looong long time
I should think you could contribute a juciy picture or two yourself! I mean minibots btw, keep your clothes on, I know what you're like... All the best Maz
Hey, I wasn't the one dancing on the tables in a thong that night after only 5 pints, Maz...! Oh wait! Nevermind... I'll see what I can dig out, although turboedguy really has me running for my money there! Wow!
I've seen some of your minibot collection online and it is amazing. Just your Windcharger collection alone is mind blowing. Having cool toys is no fun if you can't share the joy. Take some new pics and post then up!
New pics sadly won't happen for a while (my collection has been a mess after my last move a while back), so I'm afraid I have to dig out some old(er) ones for you guys... Lots of Brawns from litterally all over the world - from Greece to Peru and Japan to Mexico. 10 year old shot of my minis at that time. Probable haven't doubled since then, but it could be close. MOSC Seasprays from all over the world (missing a Canadian one to really round off the set - can anyone help me out with that?) My Windcharger collection as it was 5 years ago. Haven't really added that many to this lot, but the few I have have been tough pieces. Case in point: All 3 IGA Windcharger based releases.
So cool. So very very cool. Black keychain minibots. Vibrant colored Brazilian minibots. Awesome Joustra packaged minibots. It is enough to bring tears to a glass eye. It is a beautiful collection Fighbird. Thanks for posting it up. Ps...I do not have a glass eye.
Fighbird, I see multiples of the keychain windchargers in that pic (6 I think), was there variants between the hero's of cybertron, and the first fun4all keychains, or variants between the ones you have displayed? I also noticed you have 2 of the black keychains, and botcon Rooks, were there variants with those? Copywriter stamps etc...
I've seen them before on NTFA, but I don't get tired looking at those photos, they are epic! Those pics and Maz' articles are what inspired me to collect Mini-bots.
Ditto. And then after I started buying the minibots I ended up with a whole G1 collection too. You guys created a monster.
Thank you all for your kind words. I'd like to give a shout-out to the people who inspired me back in the day like the Fred's Workshop, Morg, Maz and the Bickmore site. All these old geezers paved the way back around 2000 when I was starting to get hooked on variations in general. @turboedguy: Well, most of them are "just" doubles, but acquired in order to look for differences. In general, these are the differences re the keychains (based on memory only; been a while): Fun4All: Unique F4A stamping; early run with big diameter keyhole loop (thin rim of plastic), later run has a smaller hole (for reinforcement; also seen on at least Brawn if not all 4); US releases have a smudgier print on the Autobot logos, while Japan releases have better print. HoC: Different stamping, better quality stickers - both in print, materials and cut. Different style of keyhanger as well, and smaller hole version.
Who you callin' old geezer, old geezer? Seriously though, this forum and community is measurably better for having you in it All the best Maz P.S. That wasn't a thong, it was a mankini.
It was a good day. Not only did I receive my dark blue Mexican IGA Huffer (They call him Pipes but whatever) but I also got my EHobby black Huffer (aka Roadranger). First there was a small bit of business that had to be taken care of. My IGA Huffer was AFA 85. There is just no way that I was going to allow my blue Huffer to remain entombed in a plastic case. So with delicate application of hammer and screwdriver Huffer is now free to run and play with his other versions. I've got some more Huffers coming soon. After that I'll take some group pics. Here are a couple of side by side pics of the EHobby Roadranger with the iGear black Rager.
Dude, thats awesome! I saw that Puffer on ebay, then it just disappeared, I should have known lol. Here's mine with some mexibot friends.
