While I had already been collecting G1 toys, Car Robots was what got me into collecting the modern toys. To this day it is the only line where I still want to complete both the US and the Japanese lines. I'm very close, I just need the spychanger giftset, God Fire Convoy Giftset, the clear car brothers giftset and the single pack versions of the JRX (Yes I have the single carded and giftsets for all the other combiners).

The Car Robot giftset or the G1 Reissue? I have the Car Robots version and it's nice!

Yeah, never saw RiD, but just looking at the numbers and TFWiki I just couldn't help but wonder how the Autobots didn't win in a landslide.

Half a dozen ninja cars, Autobot brothers, 3 man combiner, four man combiner, Optimus Prime with a super mode, Ultra Magnus and their combined mode, a couple Flipchangers...

VERSUS

Megatron (who's described as not really... doing that much), Sky-Byte (... yep), the Predacon Trio (who are woefully incompetent). I mean, they eventually get the Decepticons, but even so they're still woefully outnumbered.

 

Well to be fair the autobots were basically peace keeping. They were usually spread out and then when they found the preds/decepticons they would assemble the minimum required forces and react. Pretty much what police forces do in real life.

The preds usually tried to be covert. And were usually quickly defeated. The fact that it was a kiddy show prevented the autobots from blowing them up to bits.

The combatrons even had to do community service in one episode.

Megatron barely even acted in the first episodes and it wouldn't have changed anything if he did. Both Optimus and Rail Racer were shown to be able to beat him one on one. At first anyway.

 

Landfill was my first TransFormer, ever, so this line holds a lot of nostalgia for me! I'll have to combine my yellow Build Team and post a picture sometime soon!  

 

Here's a shot of my Predacons with some of their contemporaries from Beast Wars, figures I think Takara might have used in a Hypothetical Season Two had Car Robots lasted longer. Or recieved a Sequel Series/OVA.

I've got nothing but love for RID. The line that brought me back to Transformers collecting. I never was a completist from the line but some of the designs were so reminescent of G1 to me. The cars for one, then OmegaPrime and Ruination.

I only have a few of the RID bots, Optimus and UM, Prowl, Sky-Byte and Megs. But each and every one of them are proudly displayed.

Love that series, must watch it again. Soon.

I have both of Prowl's normal and super and I don't ever remember a gun, does he store it on him somewhere? I know he has the 2 flame things but those are white and sure don't look like the picture.

Any chance at a close up of his gun?

Here is my contribution to this thread.. without checking the wiki, I believe this is all the US retail line, except I think 2 exclusives which I didn't know existed until I joined this forum. Oh, and all my spy changers, tow line, and megabolt are in a box at the moment, I don't have space to put them out.

1) Brave Maximus. Arguably the best Fort Max mold version. Just get repro guns and the God Sword, and you'll be all set.
