I was wondering if there are more then 1 version of the G1 ko devastator set?I have googled it and there are 2 different ones I have found, one seems to have a smile look to the devastator headsculpt while the other looks a bit more like the hasbro version, can anyone help me out with this?
I cant find any pics in that link, what I was talking about was 2 different sets, one has devastator already combined on the card and the other has all the constructicons in a gift set and the box says engineering on it,is there a difference in the 2?
Yeah theres a yellow, orange, black, white, rainbow colored ko sets. ok maybe all of those except the last one.
Ah, thought you meant the two different faithful KO's that come in either a realistic looking giftset, or carded. There's a load of info on those two in the link. The two sets you're referring to are lower quality, thinner plastic etc. I've not handled either of them, but no doubt someone'll chime in soon that has. I have the rainbow coloured Devvy KO! Incidentally, he'll be up for sale once I get round to digging him out of wherever he is, need a better system for organising/storing TF's!
Ha, a rainbow-colored one does exist. I picked it up years ago. I don't remember who was what color, but the bots were red, purple, blue, green, black, yellow...it was of decent quality, IIRC...I haven't looked at it in years. EDIT - That's the one, ninety...taste the rainbow. To answer the original question, as Valkysas mentioned above, there are a ton of Devastator KOs. They pretty much fall into two categories - high and low quality. The higher quality ones are the ones that come in the reproduction G1 giftset box/on repro G1 cards. As far as I know, the original green and purple scheme was available this way. There are also G2 yellow/purple, G2 orange/purple, white and purple, and black and purple versions of Devasator that come in the repro giftset boxes. All of these are higher in quality than the sets you'll find at Big Lots or those cheap "giftsets" you'll find on eBay (probably the "Engineering" one you mentioned above). The low quality sets are pretty bad...they come in G1 colors, G2 yellow and purple, G2 orange and purple, a generic yellow and black, and probably other colors. Some of the ones I've seen come misassembled out-of-the-box, have terrible stickers, and are rather fragile. Big Lots has had these in the past (not sure if they regularly get them in anymore); they've been crammed into Easter Baskets and sold at WM, Kmart, etc., and probably have popped up in a bunch of other places. I'm not sure which of these would have the smile like you mentioned, but I hope this info helped a bit. MIKE engledogg
