    Hey guys,

I haven't posted on these boards in a LONG time, but I thought you might appreciate this picture of my main G1/Diaclone shelf. The 'Battle Convoy' trailer was made by using parts from two junker G1 trailers; one with light blue parts, and one with metal plates.

A fun Saturday afternoon removing stickers and tightening joints! Bombshell, Mirage, Warpath, and Jazz are new of course. The gent I bought Jazz from seems to have erroneously placed stickers over all of his lovely tampographs! So I peeled all of those off. Fortunately they left very little residue, as the lighter fluid residue removal trick doesn’t prevent tampo damage.

    And while I’m here…

(Yes, I know I have Motormaster’s arms upside down in Menasor mode. I corrected that after the photo)

There are raised clips on the waist panel that put pressure on the arms when in this configuration, but if you have them un-spun, they slot right into the gaps beneath his fists and next to the plastic panel that extends past them. Plus, the top of the shoulders is the design reflected in all post-G1 Menasors that are toy-based (MS Menasor with toy components, legacy Menasor, FP Intimidator, etc).

One day, I’ll rebuild my micromaster collection. That’s a great copy of Skystalker you have there!

Anyways here’s another piece I finished tightening and sticker-stripping…Trailbreaker! I can’t find a rub sign, so I think he may actually be pre-rub:

One pic before I start repairing the paint.

Some of the plastic colors got washed out when I removed some stress marks, so I’m contemplating making a Thundercracker out of him. Some dye, some paint, and stickers, might look good?

I say go for it!! I actually can’t find mine :lol  but I had a junker K Mart exclusive version of the mold from my childhood (didn’t come with the shell and the wings attached differently) and after getting a nice Pretender copy I repainted him as Skywarp and remember liking it!

Here’s a shot of mine along with a lot of the unloved figures from the later years!

Euro and US G1 complete, just won auctions for Sky High and Bugly. Really quite chuffed.

Japanese Big Powered boxset to go and I'll have everything I've wanted (all G1 Euro, US, and Japanese unique molds, and G2), already have two of them in Brave toys so only one more unique mold left (and two Brave DX releases) and I'm done with vintage.

I'm not bothered about Blue Bacchus, Black Shadow, Battle Gaia or Guard City. Sadly, the boat has long sailed on those.

While they are sights to behold, I’m not quite sure they’re worth the current entry price. And I’m quite content with my Crossblades, Bruticus, and Defensor.

Yeah, love to see them, but it's the in hand experience with the mold which was always the main thing for me. To have mold completion will be amazing to feel.

I only set out to do all the 86 movie cast originally, but it grew from there, and once I got all the eHobby figures too I was smitten.

I suppose I’ve not ever had a specific goal in mind, now that I think about it. I just wanted toys of characters I liked, initially, and now I still just buy the toys I enjoy. I’ve been listening to the Triple Takeover podcast, and @Maz has really triggered a renewed passion in me for the G1 figures just for what they are, instead of comparing them to anything. Really made me re-evaluate my collecting priorities and even some of my deep-seated preferences. Sorry to wax on, haha

I feel you! That’s about where I started with my Japanese line and then with KOs, Reissues and a few customs I was able to complete almost everybody :lol

still missing just the red firecon recolor and Battle Gaia … to this day I don’t know why they haven’t reissued him as much as they love to milk that mold … or even a KO company at this point!

    That's what we're here for!

Maz and Paul Hitchens are my two biggest influences as a G1 collector, Hitch showed me a book with all the Japanese and Diaclone G1 in 19971998 or so, and it included a lot of stuff I had never seen, it blew my mind. Once I got online it was Maz articles I found, years before we became friends.

I couldn't have imagined the collection I have now, beyond my wildest imagination.

That’s so cool! I’d love to meet him one day, but for now the podcast will have to suffice :lol  For me I think the other major influence for me was actually my dad, he was collecting G1 when I was born and at one point we had quite a number of Japanese G1. I was exposed to the entire franchise at once and so I developed a fascination with the whole thing. It’s a bit odd having such an affinity for toys I wasn’t even around to see released, but loads of fun just the same.

Edit: @Turbine027 I wanna apologize for never having taken you up on your offer to see your collection room; I’m actually about to move out a state for good this time, so your continued photos will have to suffice!
