This is what my G1 collection looked like circa 2002, figured you guys would enjoy seeing these old photos.

[IMG] There are certain toys from my childhood that are seared in my memory, transport me back to simpler times, and force a genuine grin across my face. G1 Wheeljack is one of those toys.

I’ve had one in my sights since I launched my humble G1 journey a few years ago, as he was the first autobot my mother purchased for me. As I child, I initially remember being a bit frustrated by his clunky looking robot mode, but of course that all was irrelevant the moment he was the very first TF to ever appear on screen, and then later created the Dinobots…how cool was that to my 7-year-old self!

I was very tempted to pick up a KO (as I’ve generally had a good experience with the KO Hound I scooped recently). However, since WJ captures a special nook in my history, I knew I had to hold out for the real deal, and I am now over-the-moon ecstatic to add this surprisingly minty specimen to my collection.

Wheeljack is great, mines pretty banged up and mish mashed with the KO but hes still a banger of a carbot.

My 2022 collection is better than the 2002 version of me ever thought I would manage, yet when I look back at the 2002 stuff I'm amazed at some of the pieces I had there.

The last 20 years of collecting has been wild for me.

Still need Bugly, Finback and Sky High to finish my US G1, please PM me if anyone knows of any for sale.

Thanks! He was actually quite dirty & dusty upon delivery, but he cleaned up nice with a damp q-tip.

I need one more launcher and three missiles for completion’s sake. I’m OK with the one for now though.

100% agreed…the Lancia Stratos is just sweet, and I’ve grown to appreciate his robot mode charm (have him displayed that way right now, actually)!

Edit: it has the Takara in a circle stamp so it may be a pre-Transformers Diaclone? Anyone know?

Yeah, that’s pre-rub diaclone stamping. A lot of them made it to stores in the first wave of G1 before the stamps were updated several times over. I’ve been looking for a clean circle stamp Mirage for a while now. Nice find!

    Thanks for the info..
I just read something about the "infamous PAT.P" Mirage, so I came home and found I have it but...I don't know why it is infamous hah..
Yeah I got this and a junker red alert for about £5 so I can't really company about the condition (the broken flairs on the doors?)
Other than that it looks really good I think.
And I love the Goodyear tires.
