Fake parts molded in robot mode. Fake tires, fake anything. They look bad, especially when they're left unpainted. Just assume the fact that some alt mode parts don't end where they should, we're okay with it. Looking at you, DOTM Voyager Prime with your fake wheels on the hips, Prime Voyager Bulkhead with your fake tires in the middle of the feet, Prime Deluxe Cliffjumper... you get the idea.

I agree. Make the actual parts go there, or don't. Nobody likes a faker.

Where do you draw the line? Should they just leave out everything that's supposed to be a certain color and isn't?

Doesn't he (Cliffjumper) have fake tires molded somewhere in robot mode?

A robot that shows 10 tires when the alt mode only has 6 doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I prefer faking it. You're not going to get perfect 1:1 transformations from CGI sequences onto 6" toys. However you get the toy to look like the on-screen design is fine by me.

I thought cliffy have fake horns on his head. As in, the horns in the hood of the car doesn't transform into his head but ends up at his rear end.

But then the toy is just as unfaithful to the CG robot mode. There's going to be compromise somewhere.

Movie Voyager 1 Prime was not accurate at all but still fun. I can live with that. Just don't make toys that don't make sense.

CG models would just be animated CAD designs then.

I'm not asking for über accuracy, I never cared about that (or scale, for that matter). I just want fun toys that make sense. And if you reaaaaaaally care about accuracy, then do it the Energon-Cybertron way : base the CGI on the toys, not the other way around.

I know what you mean. Sometimes its a nuisance, but in reality, Hasbro has no choice. They can't always design a toy that will transform exactly as it should in the film, with all the pieces going in the right places.

So the guy has a spare tyre, here or there.

It'd be hypocritical of me to complain about that.

While I don't like fake parts, I understand why it's done and thus accept it.
I'd much rather have a show-accurate toy with fake parts and a smooth transformation over an inaccurate toy with no fake parts but a convoluted transformation.

So you guys really like the fake unpainted tires on DOTM Voyager Prime? Really? Or the ones on Prime Bulkhead? I don't even know why they bothered, you can only see them from the rear. Next to the real tires. Nonsense.

I don't mind faking as long as it's obvious that a lot of engineering effort was already put into the toy. On the other hand, it's absolutely unacceptable when it's obvious how the faking could have easily been avoided. DOTM Voyager Optimus Prime was an absolute disgrace after ROTF Leader Prime. (and voyager!)

It's upsetting on that Optimus figure when they had it work out that the actual tires ended up on the legs with the previous Voyagers (Battle Blades and Movie 1). It's a fun figure, but I'd just as soon not have the tiny, unpainted, fake tires molded on there.

Personally, I don't love it, but I don't hate it or even dislike it enough to complain about it. But I understand if this is yours and a few others' pet peeve.
