Guys, I am just (JUST) throwing this in the air.

Would any of you guys buy an MP figure with the following features?:-

    1) Smaller scaled, between Deluxe and Voyager sized
    2) Licensed vehicles (either American/European/Japanese makes)
    3) Somewhat in scale with the majority of the current CHUG lines
    4) Possibility of a combiner

Please note I am just getting some feedback here, I am not indicating anything.

I would just love to hear feedback from you guys.

    Fire away.

If it is true to G1, as in very close to the animation model. Then yes.

    1) Smaller scaled, between Deluxe and Voyager sized
Relative to (3), I think (3) is more important for me.

    2) Licensed vehicles (either American/European/Japanese makes)
Not an important feature for me

    3) Somewhat in scale with the majority of the current CHUG lines
    Yes

    4) Possibility of a combiner
Yes, but price is still the primary factor for me.

    Hope it helps :)

    Ebay:
Depends on price and character choice. I don't import MPs in general, they do not hit that sweet spot of desirability and price. Would I import a Deluxe sized Bumblebee for $100, even if he were a Volkswagen Beetle? Probably not. Six Deluxes that form Devastator on the other hand, I'd bite for ~60 each (as many of us are indeed doing).

My desire for the old-school line of Autobots is wearing a little thin, as between the CHUG lines they are getting filled in rather nicely. Ironhide, Ratchet, and Mirage are the biggest names I'm missing. I'm very happy with Prowl, Jazz, Wheeljack, etc. and wouldn't buy "mini-MPs" of them unless price and availability were very accessible and the improvement was tangible.

As ever, if Takara wants to take my money they should be thinking about the big, classic Decepticons. I'd always prefer to buy Hasbro though, and I usually don't mind waiting. Nothing against TT, I'm just not in their market and so my needs are secondary to them.

This and I would buy any official combiner from Has/Tak that was true to G1.

Isn't the top 3 options that you have listed fit the bill of Alternity line except for option 4 which is a possibility of combiner?

Yes to all, considering the retail price to be around 7000-10000 yen. Or cheaper.

    3) Does not matter much to me as long as it's reasonable scale with the other masterpieces. For example, it irks me that the closest Prowl and Jazz we've got in scale with MP Hot Rod are the Binaltechs and not the Henkeis.

I still prefer MP line to be the size of MP01,will welcome combiners but definitely not to the extent of reducing to the size of Deluxe, maybe reducing to the size of Voyager,i may still agree to it

Assuming they were inspired by (though not necessarily slavishly accurate to) G1, I would buy without hesitation. I probably wouldn't even need to see a picture.

Official Licenses are not hugely important to me, though. points 1, 3 and 4 are more interesting.

If official licenses are the hook, though, and a combiner is a genuine possibility, may I humbly suggest you eat Fansproject's lunch and give us Menasor. I love Fansproject, but I don't mind seeing Has/Tak steal the win. Ever.

Official vehicles sounds good but would they be modern day or 80's as to stick with the G1 aesthetic? Also characters such as Jazz and Prowl would need to be that smaller size to fit in scale with MP10.

Sounds good but prolly not for me as I'm with Stepper on this and tbh I'm pretty close to completing what I want......just need that damn MP Shockwave!!

How long ago was VW stance on 'war toys' anyways? Pretty sure they have summat to do with Porsche too so that'd be Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Jazz already with question marks over them....but would they be happy with near 30 year old versions of their cars on toy shelves? Same goes with Nissan (Datsun) and Fiat (Lancia). I would imagine the only ones who wouldn't mind would be Lamborghini as the Countach is still pretty well known.....oh and Jeep.....

The 80's cars would seemingly look quite difficult to replicate....unless I'm being too simplistic?

As a side note would this be HasTak's way of destroying iGear's PP line? I remember reading they were gonna do all the S1 G1 Autobots at PP scale.....

If they are painted as well, a la Alternity or Binal-tech, then HELL YES!!!!!!!

In fact, just make them 1/32 and BRING BACK ALTERNITY!!! Alternity Bumblebee is already on my MP shelf as you know. ;-)

are you kidding? it would be a dream come true! :D
having it licensed after real vehicles makes me a little worried about the kibble (alternators/alternity style), but that would be my ONLY worry. I really don't care if they are licensed after real vehicles though. Would be just as happy with realistic looking "fake" alt modes. Maybe even MORE happy since it could get the price down a little, but that's not a big deal for me.

I guess I'm in the minority here, all of that sounds good, but the scale issue is make or break for me. If it's slightly smaller for combiner purposes, then I can live with it. However, if it's smaller for just the "possibility" of a combiner, then there's a chance it will just end up being a stand-alone figure that is out of scale with the rest of the series (which, sorry to say, has been an issue with the MP line).

I'm not a die-hard "perfect scale or nothing at all" guy, but with the price points involved with the MP series, I would at least like to display them together without it looking ridiculous. That's largely the reason why I started collecting customs.
