Pretty much this. I honestly don't know who legitimately knows what... I do believe TCracker at one point had legitimate 'inside' info. I believe he probably still has some connections...how much he knows or doesn't know now, I have no idea.

That said, I do believe things are subject to change. I can buy that Galvatron was intended to be released, but due to the overwhelming success of the car MPs and the fact they were able to obtain licenses, Galvatron was put on the back burner. I'd also be happy if they looked at the line and decided Megatron v2 should be a priority over Galvatron. Or the 'insiders' just make shit up... Whatever the case, I think it's safe to say the direction of the MP line hasn't been planned out for years and years. I don't think TT naturally assumed it was going to blow up like it has. The delays and admittance of them not being prepared for the demand tell us as much...and one would assume that would be enough to alter the direction of the line.

 

Where are you getting this? Either cassette set still goes for like 70 plus USD.

After I lost my HLJ preorders for around 35 per set, I can't be bothered with such prices. However, since I have a takara Soundwave, I could maybe spring up 70+ for BOTH sets.

 

I don't think it's odd to want a complete line-up of, say, the season one Ark crew, even if you don't particularly like certain characters. The fact is, as a display it just wouldn't be finished without all of them, and you get more enjoyment from having the full set - more than the sum of its parts if you like.

Personally I don't see the point in spending money on every figure in the latest Hasbro lines, but plenty here do just that. It's none of my business what other collectors choose to spend their cash on though...

Hints and stuff are ok to keep us talking and all that, but man, wouldn't it be awesome if we actually had someone posting here who works in the design offices of TT...! Just to get legitimate info from the horse's mouth, and be able to interact and thank them for their amazing efforts. That would be so cool  

 

Yeah, and just wait til the Hasbro SW comes out and no one can find it at retail and/or people end up preferring the Takara ones for whatever reason...

I don't see Takara MP prices going anywhere but up over the long term.

 

A seller on Amazon has MP-16 for $45 and MP-15 for $60. Not as good as $35 per, obviously, but not bad.

 

Then how would I transform him when I can't see him. I could be trying to bend in his arm and realize I'm pulling off his pelvis.

 

The key is don't force it. It shouldn't be hard and if you apply too much stress you might break it.

My biggest complaint is that my MP Cloaked Mirage figure has a terrible paint job.

 

Sometimes I don't remember where I put it and then when I wave my hands I hit it and drop it. Ouch.

That depends on where you want your collection to go.

I found that being a completist and trying to get every G1 character including ones I didn't really have any real nostalgia for made things less enjoyable as I bought a lot of stuff just so I could tick them off the list and I never really appreciated them.

Now I'm almost done with my downsizing I've realised my collection will be just fine with only 1 Seeker ( MP11 ) and no Primes ( once Faith Leader is sold ) I'm a lot more content as the characters I've still got are all ones that I like a great deal.

In 2014 I'm hoping for more Autobot cars and Megatron V2 but would be cool with Galvatron and Ultra Magnus being released as that would give my wallet a bit of a break.

 

Love the list Tb but I think you may need to add Ratchet before Megs. With the current trend it looks like TT is pumping out the repaints prior to new characters, exclusives excluded of course.
Edit: I know it's your wish list and Ratchet may not be a priority for you.

 

I think that they should tackel Devastator first as well. Design wise he is pretty unique, not being a scramble city combiner. Plus I would just love to get a MP Hook, and Mixmaster!

@OMEGAPRIME1983: If there's one thing I remember about Bluestreak, it's his excessive talking, most of it being BS.  

 

I don't really understand how we, as a collector community, are getting bogged down in a "who said what when" and "who really has an inside connection.".

I work for a major, well-known media corporation and I'm CONSTANTLY hearing about things we're GOING to do with so-and-so and such-and-such. But I've learned by now to take it with a grain of salt to not be sure anythings really happening until its actually happening.

My own wife laughs at me b/c half the time I tell her about something, it gets changed, cancelled, altered, delayed, whatever.

Seeing that TT is also a company, engaged not only in ongoing licensing talks (a fair assumption) but also in design, testing, marketing, and manufacturing of products, it's really not that hard to believe that plans change from time to time. I bet TT totally had a "planned order" to release these items that's now all over the map. I'd be shocked if something didn't get bumped for both Wheeljack and Bumblebee, in an alternate universe, there's another MP-20 & MP-21 planned and solicited already.

So who said what when is inconsequential... ESPECIALLY for a speculation thread. If we need to hold people accountable, create an accountability thread. But here, it's wild speculation. Like the cartoon posting theory. That one was awesome. Made sense, based in the evidence presented,too.

 

Sadly, people treat speculation and random facts that may or may not make sense as credible info.

If one looks at the first few pages of the thread, it's wildly different from what it's evolved to now.

Speculation is also a very different word and state than WISHLIST, yet it's treated as equal in parts and posts here.

For instance, a few months before MP Prowl was announced [or officially announced, don't remember], I came to the following speculation

"Takara chose to officially license Sideswipe and Red Alert, hence they might want to license the rest of the car releases as well. Which other car has that many repaint possibilites? Prowl. Prowl's car model is a predecessor to the current Nissan Fairlady, to which Takara already has had a working relationship with thanks to Megatron in Alternity. So it might be much more possible for them to license Prowl than, say, Inferno at the moment"

That's speculation based on facts.

This, on the other hand, is wishful thinking

"Takara will make the rest of the Dinobots because Grimlock is the leader and you can't have him without the team. They can do them, even bigger than Grimlock. Then they'll redo Grimlock to look bigger with them"

Yet both statements get lumped together under "speculation" in this thread.

As for the whole insider thing, I believe tcracker had always had some kind of info, much line that underwear guy who disappeared when he swore up down, left n right that Soundwave and I think Sunstorm were coming, but no one believed him because he had no credible past instances where he was right. Speaking of, I wonder where he disappeared to.. Maybe now everyone would give him his due with the revelations he gave coming to pass.
