I agree with this; my silly suggestion was basically a foil for other ideas to seem more likely. As for your thoughts on Diaclone uses of the molds, your post of photos showing G1 Smokescreen's predecessor on the previous page may tie up a few loose ends here. That is, MP-19 might have the Datsun badge and the racing number 38, while a Diaclone inspired variant would likely add anything between just the DATSUN logo on the front spoiler and any number of logos on the real car.

 

Sure. The tooling aspect reaches too far, I think, as having such an option really dives into the budget costs for these figures. As already discussed by the designers, they're having to make hard choices as is.

So in a couple weeks at the Tokyo Toy Show Takara will reveal their upcoming lineup for the rest of this year and this thread will light up like a Christmas tree.

Then Botcon is scheduled at the end of the month. What happens if at the Hasbro panel they only announce MP Soundwave & Acidstorm as their only MP's for the rest of the year? Because they don't want to bring over the licensed cars.

How will fans react to that?

 

Honestly, I think that if Hasbro does only releases those, I think with the fact that now a lot of the fans are finding the over seas distributors with the awesome prices for the cars, I don't think many will complain.

 

TBH I don't think there will be that bad a reaction as most aren't expecting them anyway. If they do then bonus and ppl can start the hunt.

I've got Prowl and Bluestreak on preorder already, just need to preorder Smokescreen and I'm set on the cars. The only 2 I still need are MP-09 Rodimus (2nd version) and MP-11 Starscream, which is hard to find for a good deal, really wish I could have gotten him when he first came out.
