Let's take that train of thought as far as it can go. ;)  If Daniel was included - particularly with Arcee - some fans at least would be anticipating his transforming space suit, known as the Excel Suit in the Japanese G1 Headmasters series.

Anyway, keep following that notion and fans who probably wouldn't even care less about a Daniel in his normal outfit or an Excel/Exo Suit that transforms into a buggy might be interested in something else. Something that didn't even happen in the Japanese Headmasters series: Masterpiece Arcee as a Headmaster.

I wonder what others would think of this play feature, and its likelihood, given the character's portrayal in Japan.

Yeah I was thinking as a Headmaster. I don't think Japan would necessarily avoid extra features that only reference 'foreign' versions of the cartoon. Though maybe a Hasbro-exclusive remold?

MP Headmasters just seem awesome though.

Well, for example, this image is floating around on the MMC Arcee thread in the 3rd party forum:

Note, too, the figure in the upper left corner.

Of course that image is a bit extreme, but MP Arcee shouldn't be an articulate Bishoujo (there is the term) statue. Arcee was a strong female character who put Hot Rod in his place when he got cocky. She should be depicted as such.

Yeah, that is a bit badass.

I see where you're coming from, though I don't think her appearance dictates her personality. For instance, I could picture her putting Hot Rod in his place with the statue's appearance as well. The statue's (facial) appearance just seems a lot more pleasant to me is all.

But whatever sinks your submarine :)  As for me, I'd probably buy an MP Arcee either way.

I want her to look like she did in the G1 cartoon.....just saying. ;)

I am worried tho that we may not get an MP Arcee, because there was never a G1 toy, and she wasn't a recolor of another toy. I know that TT can do what they want, and I hope they make her (We have really needed a G1 Arcee for some time now), but it dose make me worry.

This all really makes me want an Arcee now.

Still, that iGear version is good enough, I suppose. It's okay if she's a bit small compared to the others.

I'd think a new Hot Rod in that new scale would make that so much better.

Now here's a few thoughts inspired by what you've both touched on. This post is a real flight of fancy - but maybe the way I conclude will seems convincing enough that Takara might try some of these things (or already consider the last one).

Daniel in his regular futuristic get-up from the '80s animation could be paired with a V.2 MP Hot Rod - if that ever happens. Hasbro's omitting of the camper trailer for their MP-09 counterpart, and more pointedly, adding a Targetmaster, lends support to your suggestion that only their version of MP Arcee could have a headmaster.

Exo/Excel Suit Daniel could be paired with Arcee, as I suggested before. The most elaborate manifestation of this would be for Daniel's suit to take on humanoid, buggy and head modes. Imagination is the sole limit of how this could be interpreted.

After seeing the engineering on the MP cassettes, could something the scale of MP-10's Spike - with some more bulk - fit the transformations for all three modes while imparting the small but essential amount of articulation needed (such as MP Arcee's neck)? Furthermore, would the scale translate well between each mode? I know that the less said about scale, the better in G1, but this is the Masterpiece line here, and for some fans at least, Arcee's Headmaster feature would be as integral as Soundwave's cassettes can be.

As far back as the Headmaster Juniors, the humanoid partners/Transtector pilots formed only part of the head. Maybe this idea could be adopted and given a whole new spin by Takara, at least for Arcee. Seeing as the larger face doesn't appear on the animation models, this or anything else might be 'cheated' into a component that stays with the altmode/stows in the torso.

Another convention with Headmaster toys is that the smaller head locks into the larger body, though with the requisite size, innovation and articulation of Masterpieces, why couldn't more of a Headmaster partner fit into the torso, that of Arcee or otherwise. I'm not suggesting iceberg proportions, but a smaller partner's waist joint would make a sturdier neck for the larger figure, if proportion allowed.

The most efficient fake of all is inspired by the G1 S4 cartoon itself: Daniel's (modified) Exo suit drops into Arcee's torso, and then up slides her head. So maybe her head would just stow in the torso. If Daniel's suit gave one way to deploy the head, collectors could take it or leave it.

My final, simple suggestion is that an adult Spike could be included with that most serious of Autobots, Ultra Magnus, in Masterpiece form. I think it would be a neat little extra to bring Spike full circle with a character who may be build around the P-10 mold.

One good thing about MP Arcee......it'd give my wallet a rest.

Regards Ratbat, the G1 figure fits in surprisingly well.

    I would LOVE an Arcee, headmaster or not (actually, only slightly prefer not, don't care for Daniel). I think once they get through the bulk of the first two seasons, season 3 should be a breeze, whereas almost every character in the first two is a big name, there were only a handful of season 3 guys that were high profile;

We've already got Rodimus, we know Ultra Magnus is coming, so who does that leave?

Acree, Kup, Blurr, Wreck-Gar, Springer, Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge, wouldn't be too hard to get them all out. The S3 minibot repaints could be a bonus :)

MP Blurr and Kup would be neat too, IMO.

Getting past the seasons 1 and 2 cast is what it's about now because of legal reasons. But once that's over with, there shouldn't be much to worry about. It'll be free game from then on.

Think just rumors at this point, but to go along with those rumors is that the cost of this reissue will run damn near what it goes for aftermarket. If that part is true, it's not really helping anything all that much other than maybe bringing the used costs down a little.

If they go through seasons 1 and 2 first, it will be years before they are free and clear of licensing issues. Not that I'm complaining. I'm really more interested in the early stuff.

Unless he's reissued AND bigger. I guess that's not technically a reissue, but I would buy a bigger Grim for sure.

Just a reissue under the stupid Asia Exclusive banner.
