His chin is too narrow, in the cartoon he war more square-jawed. They also mistook geometric edges for engraved lines.

I guess the general consensus is that the face is on point and I’m one of the few who disagrees.

 

I'd take that to mean that "on point" is saying that it achieves the desired effect, though possibly without being the exact representation.

To date, I don't think there's a face-sculpt that's been a real fail in the MP line, even the too-long-and-narrow Rodimus face is off, but achieves the effect of making him look more mature. It's not totally accurate though.

Effect vs. Accurate seems to be the constant MP line tightrope though, and we definitely all have our preferences on it.

 

Again, both separate cab/trailer and all-in-one are cartoon accurate. In fact, his first appearance in the movie was as an all-in-one. I've gotta go back and rewatch s3 again, but I think Toei usually showed him as an all-in-one and AKOM showed him being separate.

I think if we ever see a Rodimus 2.0 it'll be likely be a while, though. Probably get characters like Galvatron, Arcee, Kup, and Springer first.

 

I'm not sure I would want that one though. I'm concerned about how they would integrate a trailer into his body and not have it either kibble-tastic or make him be too tall.

 

At least he'd be in scale with MP Magnus then  

 

Personally I want the battle platform. Integrating the trailer into his bot mode will likely make him too bulky/kibbly.

 

I think TT could pull off a pretty decent all-in-one Rodimus Prime. I'm looking at the vans' engineering and Megatron's parts count, though, Rodimus might end up with some sizable boots and possibly a bigger backpack than Hot Rod. I also think they'd make him able to seat Spike and Daniel.

I'd be fine with a separate trailer, though. It never opened up in the show but then TT still isn't shying away from toy homages, as evidenced by several of Megatron's gimmicks. I loved the battle platform on both the G1 and MP figures.

So by my guesstimation, with no new MP news by this month's end, we're looking at April/May as the earliest for a new MP.

I'm surprisingly okay with that. March is hella expensive for me. If the next reveal is Hound, I'll just be getting one of him.

If it's Blaster, I'll only purchase one because I still have one of his original G1 toys that fits with my MPs.

If it's TB, maybe two.

If it's Mirage, I'm down for no less than two.

Once we get Jazz, all bets are off......I'm buying 5

I don't care at all about the vehicle modes matching up, especially since they don't match up currently. Bot mode is most important. I mean, it would be nice if Takara works their engineering magic on Hound to make his alt mode smaller...but if they don't, they won't lose a sale from me.

I don't really believe this rumor (or maybe I just don't want to believe it), but I hope it's not because Takara are throwing their hands up on tricky licensing negotiations (Jazz? Mirage?). If they don't make the rest of the carbots, 3P's will cash in.

 

Don't believe that rumour, it's probably as fake as FT's scourge.
