I had the same thought. The interview gave the impression that Trailbreaker and Hoist were set to be the next carbots, but that it would take a while. If Hound is next, it's kind of a good news-bad news announcement. Yay, it's Hound! ...But it also means there's probably a problem somewhere.

No possible way it could be Dinobot.

I'm not putting any stock in this rumor right now, but if I were, I'd guess the figures are Jazz and Mirage, over licensing realities. And we'll know by 2019 because all of the other carbots will be out by then, and they'll have to announce that the last two aren't coming.

I don’t even think it’s that. I think people here are thinking too much and jumping to wild conclusions. See most of Laserwaves posts for examples of this.

Thinking too much isn't a problem, it's over-reacting and lacking any basic critical thinking that leads to crazy rumours getting out of control.

Hey, that basically happened in here with a bunch of folks when Dinobot was teased rather than a G1 bot. The whole board turned into a giant rage-quit for a weekend.

 

I may be cruel with this, but i cried in laughs when a friend was so excited because there was a "dinobit announced" and he thought a dinobot g1.

He tell me it's Long Haul & Hook! MP Dev will be announced for release in pieces starting in 2018, but mid to late 2019 TT will drop the lolz on us... They can't figure out how to properly size Long Haul or how to get the connection ports sturdy. But they're too far in to shit can the whole project.

Yeah, the last time that happened something like that (tokyo toy show to be clear), we were extremely disappointed, no skidz, no hauler, no megatron-silver, no devy, no mp BW megs, just the same sh@t.

I actually hate hound in all his versions, i don't know why. Maybe i'm just a dick.

 

I would wager that the hard one to design and has been delayed is Hound. He was rumored about the same time or after the 3Ps and Koyabashi just coming back. Wouldn't surprise me if they totally reworked a MP Hound, with the rumor being Hasui had one pretty much worked out. It wouldn't surprise me if they have been trying to work some compression/expansion magic to get the altmode a little more in scale with the cars versus Willy who looks like a monster truck next to the other carbots. Wouldn't be surprised either to see a funky Megatron type transformation for his chest area allowing him increased articulation with his arms and further differentiate him from the 3P.
