Looking at the changes iGear made for their version of the Coneheads and at the MP-11 mold...takara has to make a lot of costly mold changes to release Coneheads from the MP-11 mold. Not just the new wings and the head, but also so it's possible that they have a conehead. Preferably so that the conehead is the actual jetcone which will be very hard.

Also, iGear's Coneheads don't really qualify as MP figures. They're more upscaled classics versions with the way their wings transform: splitting wings for Dirge and Ramjet, and shoulderwings for Thrust. Takara can't do the same, because it wouldn't be G1 accurate enough.


But who knows, maybe we will get them. In the end it doesn't make any difference to me. Already have the iGear version and considering the price of MP-11 I'm pretty sure that if Takara will release MP Coneheads, they will cost more than the iGear versions.

Coneheads? Just when the line is getting interesting again?! Pass; iGear's are fine. Just keep giving us unexpected new MP characters TT!

On that note, with X-Transbots Ironhide and Ratchet now shown and iGear's versions still not out... I'm thinking now might be the perfect time to reveal official Ironhide/Ratchet MPs

I mean, they're probably on a CAD drawing board somewhere anyway, right? Two birds with one stone...

Agreed - I understand the appeal of the seekers, but I hope the MP series has a little more scope & vision now. I guess a lot depends on how Sideswipe & Soundwave do.

We know there's a Megatron v2 on the table (tho how different it might be, we don't know). We know Ultra Magnus is on that table. Galvatron, I'm pretty sure we had a confirmation on. If TT get a fair return on Sideswipe & Red Alert, no doubt there's a couple more car robots on the drawing board. So there's a bit more variety to come, hopefully, before we get more (but I imagine inevitable) Seeker characters.

Well, they HAVE announced the Linkin Park Edition Masterpiece Soundwave for the states. Yes, it's all gold and endorsed by a shit band, but the mold is confirmed to be coming here (though no info about where, when or how much).

You are basically correct, however. They've made no announcement regarding a regular release of Soundwave and nothing at all re: Sideswipe or Red. If anyone gets skipped I agree it'll probably be Red. There's really no reason to panic, though, it took them almost a year to confirm a domestic release for the biggest no-brainer figure to release in years (Optimus Friggin Prime)... the only mold they've ever skipped altogether was MP-5... and gun laws aside, if you've ever touched that figure you can pretty well figure out why.
