The closest thing to an official date is Hasbro telling us that everything DOTM will be out by December.
Going by prior trends, wave 6 should be hitting distribution and online sources by the end of the month or October. There is also a good chance of one more wave slipped in before Christmas, and maybe one right after for Spring (assuming DotM remains at retail this spring)
All the figures from DOTM will be revealed and release by December. But they won't go out of production until springtime, when Transformers Prime toys hit. That's what I gathered...
The line itself is scheduled to end in December, after the First Edition Prime toys come out in October/November. The already produced figures and upcoming ones (for December) will continue being manufactured for the next few months. All of them will finish shipping by March, with no more being produced or shipped, so Prime can begin and become the primary line. Generations will continue alongside DOTM and Prime.
I'm honestly very surprised by the decision to not continue the DOTM line into 2012. Also very frustrated. I personally absolutely love movie figures. While I wouldn't be surprised to continue to see HA and Cyberverse movie figures, I just don't understand the logic of it, even with the Prime figures coming out. Also, is everywhere even on Wave 4 yet? I know my area isn't; some places are just now getting in Wave 3 figures. If production is ending in December, I'm going to be very frustrated, as I fully expect to get screwed over on Wave 6, which is the next wave I actually care about. (I'll probably grab the Wreckers repaints from Wave 5, but won't be actively hunting for 'em or order them if I miss them). Wave 4, for all I care, can go die in a fire; if we were getting a white Ratchet repaint, I'd be interested, but the red isn't worth my money.
Bear in mind this was for Canada. I've heard reports that the US might be operating to a slightly different schedule. At any rate, I expect we will get at least three more waves - Wave 5 end of this month, wave 6 following right after, and whatever wave Evac is set to be in by the end of the year. Hopefully Evac's wave will have the long awaited Dino toy.
Another thing to remember is that anything that gets produced but doesn't really make it to retail in large numbers will eventually show up at Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshalls, etc. Look at the PCC dinobots/constructicons and the PCC last wave of single carded guys that are just now showing up at those stores.
Well, the confusion continues. To be honest, I am just starting to see wave 3 in my area, not even seen Fireburst Optimus or Cyberfire Bumblebee. If wave 6 is out in September, it will be internet shopping all the way. I hope there is a wave 7 with Dino and by an even longer stretch Leader Megatron. Ah the confusion rolls on
This is true. That's how I ended up getting a NEST Red Rampage 8 months after the fact. And for $8 too!
This stuff needs to start coming now. Thanks Hasbro. I want my Wheeljack and Soundwaves now. Plus, think they can make a HA Wheeljack since they have the license to Mercedes? I think it's likely they could do this, but if they think of cool colors they'll probably repaint bumblebee again. D:<
Leadfoot is a Target exclusive,it's only Soundwave and Wheeljack. BTW,I doubt I'll see them soon, since I haven't even found Wave 4 yet
At first, it was supposed to come out some time in early 2012. Then we heard that they were actually in wave 5, although that sounds like it was a typo. I hope they're out by December, but I'm really not sure when they'll be out.
Leader Megatron? Although I have him, I STILL haven't actually seen Leader Ironhide on shelves here. It really feels like Hasbro and Takara have dropped the ball with this movie. It's not over until it's over- but I can see the writing on the wall, and the Bumblebees and Prime's on the shelves...
