Yeah, I actually took a closer look at it and it does have those green eyes. That is a nice touch.

The dude is indeed sick. The Amazon one is actually really good too. I was looking at the movie and their were scenes where he was painted like the amazon one.

But the 2010 one has all the nice detailing.

Amazonicron (thank you very much for that Astronopolis! :lol ) will be my first of this mold. I'll be so excited to have the match to Primus finally. Granted, the 2010 has all the panel lining, and he really looks good, but I know for the price, I'm getting almost the same figure, with some slight tweaks, and I'm okay with that.

Plus, he comes with a Kranix! That's some serious geek lovin right there.

I don't like the blue in this figure, the Takara one is a lot nicer.

i'm hoping it's not as blue as it shows up there, from what i remember reading it's actually a cool grey.

that being said, i'll make my piece with it for the price.

I think the Hasbro one looks too muted, at least it did at BotCon. I'll still pick that one up but I think Takara is the closest to the actual animation model. But Hasbro has the advantage of the accurate green eyes. Decent price TJD, I got mine for Christmas last year for whatever BBTS had it for, $130ish? People were shelling out 2 hundee plus at BotCon, so there you go.

Oh WOW. I'm surprised the cons didn't have a markdown.

The Amazon Unicron looks, to me at least, like the same hue as the Armada version. It irks me a little that Hasbro hasn't put a little more effort into making this a bit more like the Takara version.

A couple reasons I can think of as to why they didn't do more to match Takara's efforts are the cost effectiveness of the figure, and that this the 3rd re-release (counting Takara) of the Unicron figure in two years. Not to mention I think Universe re-release didn't go as well as Hasbro hoped it would.

Apologies if I came to the wrong conclusion. It looked bad, I called it as it looked. My bad for being wrong there

Whatever dude, I totally appreciate and understand wanting to find the best deal. I've got no problem with that at all. What I have a problem with is your lack of communication, you committing to buy then changing your mind without letting know me until after your promised payment was due, and your aggressive attitude.

I also appreciate the offer of some coin for my inconvenience. That was nice of you and unnecessary, but I haven't heard back about that either, so I hope you can understand my frustration and point of view.

I enjoy your company on the boards dude, and no hard feelings on my end. I'm just not going to leave it unspoken. Hope you can understand that too.

Having said all that, nice score dude! Great price, and you're making me consider keeping my 2010 version now.

Hey Duckett... That was a decent price you paid for the 2010 Unicron... Not bad at all and totally worth it once you have it in hand since it's probably the best representation of that mold closely followed by the the Amazon version, which I'm sure all of us will eventually pick up as well.

I'm actually a sucker for this mold and bought all the variants except for the Lucky Draw that's next to impossible in owning.

    Anyways, good pick-up. :thumb

Unfortunately, Con prices on hot items mimic eBay prices at their highest and sometimes more. :(

    Naw, don't feel that way.

You can still find good deals here and there as well as pick up show exclusives and/or find something rare that you only see at conventions every-now-and-then.

This past Botcon, G1 prices were ridiculously high so I didn't bother too much on picking up anything G1 and focused on picking up stuff I seldom see, like a Wonderfest Nano Predaking :D , and the majority of the Botcon exclusives as well as new 3rd party releases.

Like I said, there are good deals here and there... You just gotta look and keep on looking... Who know's? You may come across a figure or 2 that you always wanted or never knew you wanted at a great price!

Asides from the toys, conventions are a great way to meet people, socialize and geek-out with fellow collectors and enthusiast... Where else can you go and say things like "3rd Party Maketoys Giant Not-Devastator" or "MIB 100% Black Zarak without GPS" and not have people look at you funny? :lol

Anyways, I hope you can make it out to a convention... Hopefully, a Botcon... and meet you one day. :thumb

Hey man, thanks for the added insight. I guess I just looekd at cons for the sense of looking at what the vendors have to offer, and honestly, never really thought about the social side, which really WOULD be cool.

i can't speak for botcon, but tfcon definitely had it's share of crazy high prices and a couple good deals tucked away. but ya, the social aspect and just honestly some window shopping, seeing things in person, make it a great time.
