I really like this picture TJ. Your choice of limbs on Bruticus looks so good with Unicron's orange.

The Brawl custom is gorgeous. I wish I could do that to mine.

I love this style you're doing. Have you though about making the shots a little wider to give things a bit more space? Maybe sneak in a better vehicle mode frame.

:lol  yeah you did. Nice to you're enjoying the new cam, great work with it.

I had pulled out my Megatron for my Rodimus shoot. Now I pulled out my MP Prime.

    "Mercy, Optimus I beg you."

"You, who are without mercy, now plead for it? I thought you were made of sterner stuff."

One: Very jealous. If I every am able to shoot and make money, I'll definitely be investing in either the d700 or 800 and the D400 as a primarily tele camera (due to the nice crop factor).

24-70 is sexy time. I'm going to hopefully get a 70-200 2.8 (sigma) in a few months. Can't afford the Nikon. Again, if I can make my hobby into something that can help me gain funds, then I'd go for Nikon.

Any ways, I think TJ is using an 18-55. Getting tighter, shallower DOF shots on the 55 end, and has to get closer with the 18. Since it's nice and wide and @ 3.5 the DOF is not too shallow.

I'd try shooting @ 24, or 35 @ 5.6-8.0 to get the most in focus.

Also, I wish I had some off camera flashes like your SB-900.
If I could I'd go for 700's, but I think I'll pick up a Nissin Di66 MKii for now.

    As I said, Lucky.
Tis true. You want more DOF, either you have to stop the aperture up by a lot, or use a point and shoot.
Since the smaller sensor in the P/S (DX CMOS vs. 1/3" sensory) you get a lot more in focus.

Wait for me Guys! I re did my LB. Still need the New setup, but I'll post some soon :)

    ^^^ Holy Long post batman.

@Oroduin - Is it sad that I saw it when I transferred to my comp, and it was still in the lightbox, but I just didn't feel like taking another pic of it?

@Ezilla - Thanks. something that I can build and get the same effect of I'm always going to just build first, even if it looks like junk, since it doesn't effect the picture.

Actually while I used the 24-70 for many years, I no longer own it (I went all primes some time back). The 70-200/2.8 type of zooms are great fun especially outdoors! I'm thinking with my rekindled interest in Transformers I will go grab a macro lens of some kind and join in on the fun.

    Jadis -
Once upon a time, long ago, back in the mists of pre-civilized TFW2005 there was a thread called Cool Stuff. In that thread were pictures of all sorts of toys and other things we deemed "cool." From pets to bikes to guitars to toys, it was cool.

And then some wise person began the trend of superior lighting and white backgrounds and amazing clarity. And these pictures became known as SUPAH CLEAH, as opposed to the photoshop wizardry and background enhanced photos that were also posted in the thread.

And many interwebz eons later, cool stuff was split to cool stuff TFs, and other cool stuff. And still later, the TF cool stuff was split to cool stuff, and SUPAH CLEAH cool stuff, as a funny little reference to a bygone era we old timers remember fondly as the kindling that sparked a now raging fire.

Now, could you hand me my cane? There's some kids I need to chase off my lawn.

Looking on your FlickR, maybe using the 24mm or the 35 @ F/8.

You may have to crop it, but d700 has enough resolution.

Speaking of nice lenses. Zeiss planar lenses are sexy teim, even if they are MF.
I know i'd have to buy a split focus viewfinder to use it well though...

    I need an 85... And a 50.. and a 35... and a 24.... And money.
