Cancelling MP Starscream.

 

Other sites also have this for preorder at $195. So this is sticking.

BTW, this also comes with an addon set to make MP08 taller.

 

Expanding on what I sad earlier, it's still pretty comparable to Takara MPs. I suppose you could treat this release as the equivalent of a Convoy w/trailer (extra parts, accessories, etc.). Those were upwards of $200.

I'm wondering what Chimungmung would charge for this before S&H. That might be your best bet, assuming you really want to buy it.

 

About the 180 day PoL limit... I got an email asking me to ship mine. I responded telling them I have some preorders due this month and in Dec and wanted to wait on those, but that I would ship in time to get my big box by Christmas. Hoping those December orders would come in by then. They responded telling me to ship my December. The whole wording made it sound like I'd have to ship it myself. Will they automatically ship it at any point? If I just leave it to try to wait, will they ship it automatically at some point? If so, I'm just going to let it be and hope for the best.

If they had made it scale with MP-08 to begin with, I might have been able to swallow the price tag. But it requires me modifying an already perfect toy? Pass. They shouldn't have made it so big.

 

My last POL that I received recently passed the 180 day limit and maybe a month or two later after I received the email notice it automatically shipped without allowing me to make anymore changes to it. It will automatically ship at some point.

 

Why are people cancelling their MP Starscream Re-issue pre-order?

 

^ Probably to make room for other preorders, like FansToys Scoria (not-Slag) and Warbotron not-Bruticus. There's a lot of great stuff getting released within the next few months but only so much money to spend it on. I know I had to make some hard decisions and drop some preorders to make room for others.

 

Personally, I'm in the midst of moving, and need to be sure I can cover two mortgages temporarily in addition to closing costs, insurance, etc.

I didn't want to cancel, but thought it was a prudent choice.

 

Wait, what comes with an add-on set? I have not been on here in a while. The fanstoys scoria comes with a height extension for grimlock or reissue grimlock is going to have the height extension...?

MP-8 in general will receive a height extension of some sort with this third party MP Slag. It will work on all versions of MP-8, reissue or no.

Baring indications Takara has dinobots in the MP pipeline before this is released, this is an obvious buy. But I can't say I'm crazy about them making Slag bigger than Grimlock. I like Grimlock the way he is, so most likely I won't be a big fan of his new platform shoes.

 

I'm failing to understand where any such indications are coming from with TakaraTomy regarding any Dinobots at this point.

Same here. Unless we're meant to take the fact that Hasbro Asia is reissuing MP Grimlock (with the new crown/sword-flame accessory) to be a sign that Takara may have a super secret newly molded larger size MP Grimlock v2, similar to what TT did with Last Shot Convoy before they unveiled MP-10 Convoy shortly after that. All this talk of a bigger Grimlock (and the hopes that FansToys will make one) just sound like a lot high hopes backed by not a lot of fact, to me. Personally, I'd be satisfied with the foot extensions on Grimlock for my display purposes, to be honest. But if folks want to roll the dice on a bigger MP Grimlock, there is that upsized KO making the rounds in the 3P thread.

 

Considering MP5 Megatron, MP10 Optimus and MP11 Starscream also got the reissue treatment, I don't think MP8's reissue really means anything beyond allowing fans to have another chance at getting MP Grimy.

 

As much as I WANT to want this, I just don't. It's a combination of his price and the fact he's way too big, even for a MP. If they'd sized him to Grimlock and just forgot about the platform shoes, maybe. But for now, I've got to pass on this.

My last pile of loot they put into processing and sent it to the warehouse to be filled without telling me. I only noticed when i was checking in my account checking my preorders. This was probably around the time they were doing some changes to their system but I did let them know I wasn't happy at all about no notification that they were doing it. They did respond about some packages being substandard and an apology of sorts.

This was in June so it was quite a while ago.
