I succeeded in finding the DotM toys! I picked up Topspin and Crankcase!

 

I noticed that they changed the twist tie stuff in the packaging from that strong black plastic wire to a brown bio degradable type of cord. They are just as hard to open I'm afraid. Why so much packaging? It took me at least 20 minutes to open my Leader Class Bumblebee and Sentinel Prime. LOL!!!!!!

 

The twist ties were changed a short time back, actually. The change is Hasbro trying to be more environmentally conscious.

The "excess" in packaging is an attempt to deter theft some.

 

So far since Monday I've scooped up:

Leader Sentinel (amazing amazing amazing!)
Voyager Shockwave (another out of the ballpark figure)
Crankcase (clipped but still badass)

I told myself I'd skip voyager ironhide and get the leader...but I didn't listen to myself. Ironhide's door snapped off though, so I'm going to return him and put the extra cash out for a leader bee. I'll skip any other incarnations of him. I've only purchased 3 movieverse bee figures total so I feel like I should get this one

 

I'm going to get:

Leader Sentinel
Leader Ironhide
Deluxe Bumblebee
Deluxe Topspin, Roadbuster And Leadfoot (if he gets a deluxe)
Deluxe Sideswipe
Deluxe Crankcase
Deluxe Skids and Mudflap

I'm hoping that there are leader class versions of
Shockwave and Megatron, but I will get the voyagers if there
isn't.

 

Fingernail clippers make short work of those ties.

 

So I went to Walmart for Shockwave and got.....


NOTHING!!!
 

I'm so hurt it isn't even funny lol 

Tons of Prime.... but no Shockwave. Oh well, maybe Target will have some tomorrow

 

Well I found Shockwave today... at Shopko... And yes, I bent over and took it and paid the $30 they were asking. Happy, butt a little sore. Oh well, out of all the stores in town Shopko was the only place who had'em and now I don't have to drive/call around like a mad man.

On a side note, day 3 since the release of these toys and still 0 of 3 Fred Meyers have anything out. They are missin' out on mad sales....

 

Well boys I am happy to say that one of my beloved family members found the rest of wave 1 for me, so to date of all the stuff that was supposed to be released I am only searching for 2 more and they are out of wave 2....Topspin and Shockwave 

 

I'm ordering Shockwave this morning. I might pick up Skyhammer or Sentinel Prime as well.

 

I picked up Sentinel Prime earlier than the Street Date. Since the Street Date, I got Voyagers Shockwave, Skyhammer, Megatron, and the Walmart Exclusive Optimus Prime w/ Comettor.

 

Prior to this week, I had never bought a single toy above Deluxe class, of which, I have few.

Since then, I've already bought Voyager Ironhide and Shockwave, and am struggling against the very strong urge to get Skyhammer. Something about these damn DotM toys I tell ya...

 

Thanks to Bumblebee3, I no longer have to kill my gas searching God's green Earth for a Shockwave! Very nice dude.

 

I've been using a set of hobby cutters for these. They're used for cutting model parts out of their sprues but they work really well on twist ties too. A snip here and a snip there and the figure is freed from its cardboard and plastic prison.

And that's probably where it'll stay for a little bit. I didn't get more than three figures at the same time, so I didn't get to have a big old haul opening marathon - it's been staggered through the week.

 

What is the Walmart Exclusive Optimus? Is he a voyager, leader
or the deluxe?

 

Starting off with Deluxe Crankcase and Roadbuster and then Leader Sentinel Prime and Cyberverse Commander Powerglide.

 

Voyager, comes w/ an extra figure, Comettor.

 

I'm really impressed with what I've gotten so far which includes Voager Megatron, Shockwave, Skyhammer, DLX Topspin, Roadbuster, Crankcase, Leader Sentinel Prime, and Cyberverse Powerglide. They are all very well put together and a lot of fun to play with.

 

I've nabbed Topspin and Roadbuster for the boy and myself.

And the repaint HFTD Prime w/Comettor (sp?). Love the crazy colors and earthrise.

Shockwave and Powerglide.

And...I'm done. Prob. get Leadfoot in whatever form nets me a little robo doggie.

 

And shiny metallic paint, new head and battle hooks.
