It was very Eurovision, very 'Bondian' (ie like a James Bond theme) and stuff like that always does well. Plus Eurovision has a history of Transexual winners, Israel won it years ago with a transexual.

To be honest the lyrics paint the song as a great big 'fuck you' statement to all that's going on in Russia at the moment which must have boosted the voting.

I would kill to own a PM Prime that lived up to that artwork. Its stunning. As much as I love the original no amount of customising could make it live up to that art.

 

Well, that was Eurovision. Not sure why I watch it ever year, but it's a giggle when you watch it with mates.

I'm in the camp that says Powermaster Optimus Prime is a piece of shit, but Ginrai (even without God-bomber armour) is amazing. To me, the comparison between the two shows everything wrong with Hasbro cost-cutting from 86-89, which eventually led to the death of the golden goose. Speaking of brickformers, had this in a while back and had a chance to check it out tonight for the first time ever. For a complete brick it's actually very likeable.

 

I think that toy is more Brave than Transformers. It fits right in with Brave Exkaiser and J-Decker. Beautiful piece, but has less poseability than some Transformers novelty shampoo bottles.

With the girls having been away for the last week I managed to get all the Macross Valkyries out for a group shot or two. Three to four hours of setting up, transforming, clearing obstacles, packing up etc, and I only managed 5 photos.

Whilst not absolutely identical the trailerforce set with G1 PM Prime cab does a good job. Bloody massive too.

Hate hate hate The ugly, ludicrously poor, stubby armed, red-eyed statue that is PM Prime and always did. It's not even a good truck. It was this very insult to my eyes (and pocket money) that got me to stop collecting in the first instance. All the rose tint in the world can't make it otherwise.

Bricks: are acceptable in Lego, Housebuilding and the above mentioned satirical/comedy scenarios. Otherwise they can fuck right off.

Citizen Stack however won't be making me (rage) quit collecting, He's quite good. Apart from the stupid extra red bits and the off-wheels. I'm brrmmm brrmmm ing Him into ManiaKing right now. We're all seeing the funny side.

 

All the talk of powermaster prime has me quite excited for something I'm taking delivery of later! I'll update with pics as and when  

 

Hmmm I always think that trailerforce set looks almost there, but lacks the magic that makes PM Prime/Super Ginrai loom so cool in that artwork. Maybe its because it lacks bulk, being rather lithe looking. Its big, but doesn't look like the powerhouse it should.

only masterpiece bluestreak and fansproject stunticons left,
will do them for a good price (forced sell and all)

 

Can't see why they haven't done that in the first place, its not as if parts swapping is difficult and it will pretty much guarantee it will sell out. Soar would require a lot more parts swapping so I can understand the 2 versions.

 

Agreed but it's the closest will get for the foreseeable for articulation and size it needs to be. There is a guy doing Shapeways attachments that help the overall silhouette that does help too.
