*Gesticulating with pipe** I'm afraid @barry , @MyTea Boc & Co. I must politely refute that assertion, the Bestest Pretenders are clearly the least bland 'Bot fella in Wave 1, Cloudburst (my fave of the wave), and the never-released in the UK wonderfully weird wave 2 'bots with slightly more evolved/involved alt modes IMHO, good sirs.

SHENANIGANS! Landmine is clearly best, if only for the package / UK comic advert artwork. And it IS a work of art.

Opened mine this morning and it's solid as a rock, it really seems to be hit or miss with the qc.

Seems there's a few good ones out there, guess it's just luck of the draw but more bad than good so far and MPM Prime doesn't look very promising from what I've read but that's more to do with alt mode.

I see what you're getting at but the pic is so small there's no way you'd be able to make out the wee robot.
And with that, the decades long mystery is solved. If you could have all my likes for the day, you'd have them but alas, I can only give '1'.

Ah, so MPM-03 BB is Alternity size? I thought he was HA sized. Does anyone have a HA BB to compare him with?

Ah, but, dear Joe, The toy's the thing!
Your humble correspondent must admit that he himself too was taken in wholesale by the artistic wizardry of the resident mining engineer.
If the proportions and colouration of Messr. Landmine, Esq. matched the artwork he'd be up there with his celestial wavemate but the truth is though the black thighs make for a less bland bot mode they mar the unity of digger lander mode, his permanent gangster inclination of gun handling is already irritating but the proclivity for his fist ports to also be too small is even more galling, and he doesn't even have those sweet treads! No, sir, he is the worst of charlatans in fact!

#sigh#, I dearly crave those wave 2 pretenders - they all look so lovely -only missing a skullgrin from the first wave - eagerly waiting on evilbay to dredge up a complete one at not daft prices...

Sounds good to me! I give 2017 to the cons, despite a very solid showing from the TR Deluxe bots so far this year. Black Shadow, Quake, and this fella who just landed last night are awesome.

    IMAG1576[1].jpg

Cannot wait to get the rest of the wave.

Pfffft I'll give you cloudburst. He was a nice looking figure. But come one, we all know that after Vroom, Longtooth was pinnacle autobot pretender.

I'm wondering if there really are any good ones out there. :)  Even most of those who say he stands fine seem to qualify that with "if you bear in mind the fact that he's back-heavy". I only have the floppy wing issue on one of my two, though - that seems to be a common problem that doesn't affect all of them. The areas of ankle weakness seem to be the pin holding in the long heel spur, and the pivot above the wheel. Neither are particularly loose, but they just aren't tight enough to counter the weight of the back of the figure. Maybe if you get one that has really, *really* tight pins in those areas, it will stand without any problem, but I wonder if it will give in time anyway.

Anyway, some more pictures, showing that with extreme patience you can still get some decent poses if you get the balance right (although he toppled over shortly after the high kick picture was taken):

Here you go - not vehicle mode, though, I'm afraid, as I couldn't be bothered to transform HA BB, but you can see that the HA one is much bigger:

    And with Alternity Bumblebee:

I've got quite a few sets. They're alright, but require a fair bit of tidying up (spruce mark central) and some of mine have got loose over time. I have one set of KO Perfect Effect ones and much prefer them. Saying that< I think the newer Nonnef ones might be a different design? Maybe?

Yup, well he does turn into a fuel tanker, and Boulder Hill does disguise itself as a petrol station, so where best to hide in plane sight?

Heres one in honour of your Tankor review today:

Dammit, why havent the KO people managed to produce OS version of the UW Blast-off and Groove?

I really want one of each but dont want to shell out over £200 to get the combiners (altough that UW Ruination looks good)

I'm a fan of their bromance in TAAO, could resist taking a quick snap.

I got him from this guy on eBay (Items in nakatsu toys shop on eBay.) as I missed out on the pre-order with Kapow and ID (plus I'm not looking Blitzwing). I was surprized he arrived so soon.
