Welcome Chojin! Wth either Bovis or Lambor you can't go wrong, though my vote goes to Lambor :D

Now I've never handled their stuff but it always struck me that they were designed to fit in with a G1 collection and that at half the price of everyone else's Predacons the quality would refect that. I'm guessing then that they are even worse than that.

This is the very thing that inrigues me - we're hearing that the X-Trans ones are not great quality but it seems that not many people are concerned with quality for the Cubex release. As a new company, the Cubex one is the one I'm more concerned about.

Having said that, I'm pretty happy that we're being spoiled for choice.

There's a Google Translate review up in the 3rd Party section for Cubex.

Sounds fairly decent from the gist of it and the pics are superb.

    Ref 3P companies:
Sharkies quality is ok but not as high as the bigger guys. Some parts need to be a lot tighter, horns pop out easily but in general they are very nice and not bad for the price.

We have to remember that even the established "good" companies can go downhill too. Something Sid knows I've been going on about lately ;)  A company's reputation is only as good as their last release.

Take iGear. I love the Coneheads etc, PP05 and the first run of Minibots.
But then when Gears, Beachcomber etc came out I was let down by them. The colours were really muted and poor plus the joints were so tight it's ridiculous. I still can't spin 360 Bushwhackers head.
If they decide to re-release them in more accurate colours again I will be pissed. Different repaints are fine but redoing them correctly is just annoying.
They have a great designer behind them but let down by bad company choices or quality control.

Then there is KFC. I love the tapes they have been making but lately things have started to unravel for me.
I thought Black Micro Robo was brilliant. Everything fitted tight and worked great. Then Mugan Scope came out and had odd colour choices but also the joints were flimsier and the scope kept popping off.

These 2 guys are exactly the same mold just different colours so should be the same, shouldn't they? Nope!
The red one is perfect. Joints are tight, guns fit everywhere and all round nice figure.
The black ones missiles will not fit into his arms, the rear gun barely holds on and his leg is floppy as hell so standing is hard! But the ball joint is so tightly held on the leg I can't remove it as I fear I may break it. So good and bad in 1 place. I've had similar issues with the Steeljaw versions too.

Both companies have amazing designers and ideas but are getting let down with QC and production. These problems are starting to make me doubt buying things at full price from the companies again or waiting for reviews.
A reason people are raving about MMC is because they have delayed and taken time to get these things right and it has taken time. FansToys are like gods it seems but if Slag is crap they will fall from grace.

So I can totally see why people are worried about upcoming Huffer releases based on previous purchases. I think 3P need to keep working on every release to ensure things are perfect more now than ever. 1 good figure can make them and 1 bad figure could break them too.
AND THAT'S WHAT GRINDS MY GEARS! Lol ;)

I shouldn't laugh that hard at quarter to two in the morning..

Yeah, you can't go too far wrong with Nick and James. I'd add Sl Kup beforehand so you can get the Guzzle/Kup bit.

Really ought to pick up the tpb as my go to wreckers book, so my ocd can stay calm, since the hardcover is larger, and has a few squiggles in it. Sadistic, black, evil writers/artist, seriously nice guys.

    Edit:
Yeah the messed up their first (?) release, train Optimus, but to their credit, they upped their game and kept it up, only slipping up on the upscale to MP (Shocky boat).

Very nice photos Zaltron, crisp! Great group shots

I'm with the majority, I own both the TFs you mentioned and whichever you choose is a winner and amongst the best toys of recent times.
If you do make the leap to 3rd party Bovis ain't a bad place to start but you'll need the other 4(or 5 if you include Felisaber).

Mate these photos are beauties, HD enabling engaged.......surely I can live without Hexatron.......

    :lol

Edit: @deathsheadII feeling your signature, perfect for Starscream week.

I woke up at 6am in that no man's land between being drunk and the hangover looming on the horizon. I can't get back to sleep and I know that by 10am I'm going to feel really, really crap. That'll teach me for mixing the grape and the grain...

Anyhoo, welcome Chojin! And for what it's worth, I vote for Lambor for your next foray in MP - you need to build up some classic bots before you start throwing angry robot bulls into the mix.

The part of me that's still drunk wants to buy Year of the Horse MP10, whilst the hungover part of me is telling me that his gold is too blingy and will hurt my eyes.

MP10B is already on his way! My drunk side is imagining a line-up of MP10s in various colours.

^^ I've got rhinox coming on chrimbo day, and I decided I was very very foolish for selling my generation sspringer, so I've got another one of those coming too. If I could source a waspinator before chrimbo I'd be well happy...
