Grapple is technically Season 1. He's RIGHT THERE IN THE PILOT EPISODE. He got called Hauler because Cliffjumper is a dick.

I think I'm going to go for MP Smokescreen instead of Prowl. Are the release dates July 13 for Prowl and Sept 13 for Smokescreen? A belated 30th birthday present to myself if Sept!

What are the chances of them havning the shoulder mounted rockets also?

Yeah this is what I've said about all of the race car bots. I'd rather just get the plain colours, then some stickers to figure out the rest if I really want them. Most never appeared in the cartoon anyhow.

I am pretty damn excite for this mold   U2.0 Prowl is what pushed me over the edge to MP cos I hate it so. To finally have a decent Prowl and Bluestreak will be awesome. But yeah, same! I'm gonna be like a child for every S1/MTMTE autobot car they release   It'll be like first picking up Classics again, but without the disappointing discovery of a lack of this, that or the other. Interesting that they went big boots for this mold, but separate feet for Sideswipe/RA when they too had solid booties. Guess it's an articulation thing, considering they've gone all ankle tilt on MP17-19. I love it, hope it is only a week til colour pics, and that preorders go up soon! (but not too soon, after my sales finish please   )

Very slippery   I knew you couldn't resist. Considering what you already have, can't hurt right? And you don't HAVE to get the gestalts....don't forget Perceptor and Blaster too, I hear FT are doing Blaster soon  

I'm gonna wait on finishing Uranos til they're all out and some upgrade kits have been released. I love the limb bots but welcome a saving on BB or any other parts. Plus, I think MP preorders are a bit more important. Plus, if FT do release Blaster in the next few months, I wanna be able to order one since I love the guy.

While I've often considered this, and for a time did have Grapple on my MTMTE shelf, I just can't get used to him being there. His brief appearance in the pilot and then disappearance til S2 just throws me off. He fits in, but it doesn't feel right him being there.

Yep, plain colours would do although if they can get the decals so much the better. I agree on the U2.0 Prowl, bought it as well and was soooo disappointed with it and sold it on.

These new MPs? Well they look flawless - I'm really excited by this silhouette as it hits the sweet spot for cartoon accuracy and the cleaned up image hints just enough about the car mode. Going to be like a big kid all year with these.

To top it all, just seen the video of MP Rumble / Ravage and they look stunning. Ravage looks so much better on video than static pics. Although looks like his joints could be challenging and fragile. They have used the same witchcraft they used on Laserbeak to make a flat cassette become a fully 3D character - outstanding!

Yeah Grapple has been my Hauler but if other s2 characters are gonna join him he may aswell be Grapple again. I can shoehorn him in as Hauler as the stock classics fig but when he is kitted out with Wheeljack's MP 'add ons' he is Grapple all the way.

@ MB, yeah I'm kinda half way there already so whats a few more? I dunno, I'll wait to see more detailed colour shots first but Prowl and Bluestreak are 110% being snapped up.

Just because he's not seen doesn't mean he's not there, where did all the other S2 Autobots come from anyway? No, the way I see it he was set to work on repairing the Ark. A catastrophic crash and 4 million years worth of wear and tear underneath a Volcano don't fix themselves you know.  

 

In the uk comic the S2 bots had their bodies built by ratchet? and loaded up with minds that had been stored on board the ark.

Yeah I know. I mean it's just hard for me to love and want a character that did screw all in the first season. Can't deny he's present, but also don't really feel the love like I do for the other S1 characters.

I do try   I can't and won't collect the mainstay of S2 (bar Perceptor and blaster and I guess Superion. They're all unique enough for me to want. They can go on a shelf with Grimlock), so I've gotta enjoy through others. Plus, he does already have Inferno, Grapple and Red Alert....

There's the head guard, gun hand and articulated hand with it too.....and a ladder for Inferno.

 

Man that kit really is shaping up nicely....I'm wondering whether I should just hold onto Grapple for a while, see how he looks with the MP carbots....lol

 

Is that the HFTD Grapple? I regret not picking him up when he was in Home Bargains. At first glance whilst in the box he looked rather hollow.

Grapple's as sold as his mold-mate Inferno. Only thing I don't like is that he lacks the forearm armour swivel Inferno has, but I guess it's to help differentiate the two. Also his hands suck, but if you're going MP upgrade route that's a non-issue.


Think I might retract mine from ebay tonight. Only one person watching anyway, might as well keep him for meself!

 

That's Universe (or Henkei....not sure) Inferno but the kit works on the RTS Grapple too.

 

I realy like CHUG Grapple and Inferno. Its a neat mold, and has a really good look to it imo.

The only thing I wish they'd done to it, is made it so the crane arm and water cannon could detatch and be mounted on the back.

I know its possible via modding, but you shouldnt have to really.

 

I just wish they were a cm or two smaller so Grapple could fit in my display. Only headroom for deluxes and smaller voyagers. Classics Jetfires head barely clears with no helmet and slightly spread legs.
