As some of the posters have mentioned, amid the discussions, solutions posted by members have gotten lost, so here I am creating a new thread for fixes ONLY, please contribute if you have fixes, as for opinions please use the official MP-09 feedback thread.

    Good news everyone!

After disassembling my Rodimus, I can finally say that I've figured it out!

Ok one issue at a time:

Backpack won't stay cliped While having the grey clip attached, pull down on the black swivel piece that the backpack is on. You can add a layer of Krazy Glue to help with the grip.

Gun holding hands: That is an illusion, Rodimus doesn't actually hold his guns, he pretend he does, what you do is peg in the gun with open palm, and then only fold the outer notch of the finger in, that's it, no more than that, and you can push the thumb against the handle of the gun lightly. You can also use the Krazy Glue method to ensure a better grip.

Arm can't connect to the tabs because the feet is blocking the hands: You need to swing out the feet ALL THE WAY OUT, it makes all the difference

Spring issues: Disassemble the feet on Rodimus, did you notice that the spring is stock to the diecast part of the feet after you separate the two halves? That's the problem. The spring is caught in a groove in the diecast, remove the spring, and if your spring is bent out of shape, take two needle nose pliers and try to twist it back into shape as good as you can. After that's done, reinsert the spring into the cavity in the plastic ankle of Rodimus. Now reassemble the feet and all should be well.

Shin panel won't connect to hip: a dab of Krazy Glue on the tab in the shin panel, connect it to the hip while in vehicle mode, then untab it, let dry.

Popped off leg panel: This one requires more work, I found a ball joint piece that served the purpose, you can buy these parts from Hobby Link Japan or your local hobby shop, what you are basically doing is to re-create the screw piece that stripped off, so you start off by removing the screw by pushing it out of the part with a needle nose plier, and make sure the new part is a nice tight fit to the hole inside the leg panel. Enlarge the arm on the leg if need be, once that's done, you will Krazy glue the hole inside the leg panel and then thread the new replacement piece through where the screw normally goes and let dry while constantly moving the piece to make sure you didn't over apply the glue. Shave off the extra parts if need be, then that should be fixed.

Unfortunately I did not take pictures of the spring issue, but it's really self explanatory, parts of your spring would be in the correct condition, and the part that's out of whack is not, and just wind the spring up till they all look more or less the same, and then place the spring inside the ankle that's still connected to Rodimus' leg, rather the diecast foot, then reassemble the foot.

Thanks for making this thread MS. I want to add my own low tech solution to the popped off leg panel. All I did was take a very small piece of scotch tape and placed it over the hole and push it firmly over the exposed screw. To my surprise this actually works rather well. You don't notice it and in my case the fit is so sturdy you can acutally drag the figure by the piece that was broken!

I'd like to see/hear more on the foot/spring issue. I have taken my foot apart and tightened the spring inside, but it has popped out again. Someone had posted a diagram of how they fixed the problem (it involved bending the spring at the bottom), but the pics weren't very clear.

Any body got good clear pics of a fix?

    Thanks!

Let me double post this here:

I found out how to work the backpack, no super glue required.
Position the gray box over top of the clip points. Then press down on the sliding track used to position the spoiler for Winnebago mode. It slides down 1 or 2 millimeters dropping the gray box onto the clip points and locking the whole thing in place. It locks in like a rock.

Edit: Looks like I misinterpreted what what going on, but the mechanics are the same. When you push the slider bar, it's actually the black hinge at the base of his back that moves.

Crazy Glue and Clear Nail Polish are great additions to any fan's collection. If you don't need it with this figure, you'll need it with another.

Just to see what all the buzz is about regarding the feet...I decided to take mine apart, despite not having a problem with them. Those are some powerful springs...and I guess I see why some are experiencing the problem. It's a crappy situation, but at least it's very easy to get to and very easy to fix.

Matrix Soul - nice work with the thread! Here's mine:

    i) Spray matte coat to protect on the wing/fin after painting your Rodimus if it has suffered from scratched marks.

ii) File the insides of the trailer slot to prevent the red paint sticking on the wing/fin.

Please not not all Rodimus may encounter the above problems.

I thought that it might be useful to mirror my post here as well....

My MP Rodi has three main problems:

    - foot spring
    - leg panel
    - backpack

Of these three, the foot spring is the worst of the three. I dont think that the backpack on mine will ever really clip together.

So, I decided to take the foot apart. I havent 'fixed it', but I did take it apart to take a look, and rewind the spring a little (I also put the spring back upsidedown to see if this would help more).

Pic1 - I removed the three screws to take one side off the foot.
Pic2 - The other side of the foot slides off the ankle bar.
Pic3 - You can see the spring and how it has uncoiled a little.
Pic4 - Before I took it apart, this is what the foot spring issue looks like.

I hope that this helps people.

He is back on display right now. However, the initial spring popped out after half of the first transformation - moving the foot once to alt mode then once back to robot mode. After the inspection, I shifted the foot backwards and forwards a couple of times, and didnt see any increases in 'pop-age'. If I have to go back and re-correct, I will post here on the progress and procedure.

I think that the best thing is to contact the person that you bought the figure off of, stating the problems that you have had, your disappointment and how you will think twice about buying the next MP figure. If the retailers get a few of these to pass on up, it will represent significant units which wont shift for the next figure.

Don't know if this has been posted yet or not. If it has please disregard. I fixed backpack issue with rodimus with no glue, just used a small screw driver. There is a tiny screw where the little black box is ( opposite end of the white tab). It was loose on mine now the white tab holds really well. I still had to push down on the white tab and pull on that slider bar. This worked for mine so hopefully this works for other's.

The problem I'm most worried about (I haven't opened mine yet) is the leg panel snapping off. Is this definitely going to happen on mine? Is there anyone who has MP Rodimus where their leg panel is perfect and shows no signs of breakage?

It's not definitely going to snap.

Although i'm not sure if anyone has a roddy where both panels are perfect?

Nothing is perfect in this world. we can only wished for the best that's all.

That said I've transformed mine almost 10 times alrdy, suffice to say everything seems fine plus even after doing it that much, there are no stressmarks on other parts of the figure.

(but who knows maybe in time to come, due to wear & tear it might just snapped off.... )

I'm just thrilled that mine isn't the only one with the ankle / spring issue. Okay, maybe "thrilled" is the wrong word, but I'm glad I didn't buy a lemon. The MOLD is a lemon!

Actually, nothing about this makes me happy. I hope Hasbro addresses this problem on the domestic release. THAT'S who we should complain to.

I have no panel issue's at all. I just had both ankle springs start to warp (one severely). Waiting for an in depth ankle fix before I attemp to rectify the situation.

Any fixes for the visor? Mine falls over Hot Rod's eyes if I look at it wrong, & I can't seem to find a way to "Lock" it out of view...anyone else with this issue? Any suggestions on a fix?
