I picked up Thunderwing and let me just say that he is awesome. Repaints being as prevalent as they are, who would you like to see Thunderwing repainted as? My vote goes to Metalhawk. Throw in Inferno painted up as Artfire and we have a winner!
Well he's being repainted as Black Shadow. But the fellas in the Beast Wars thread and I thought he would make an excellent Terrorsaur.
I am still on the fence with whether or not I will get Black Shadow. That Terrorsaur photoshop is brilliant. I'd buy that in a second.
Well someone else started it, but it was all gray and red, which was a little too show accurate for me. So I added the purple, black, green, and yellow.
Considering the black shadow retool. Maybe Energon Megatron? Though the legs are completely the opposite of megatrons weighty spring loaded balancing extremities. Otherwise its really close. Buying up all the black shadows I can find when they come out. One step closer to hasbro doing star saber with a japanese only character homages being marketed. And I'll have a a special force of black Jets. Win-Win.
The remold is definitely Black Shadow inspired. Hopefully with the right colours to match. I actually think he's been planned for a while, after all - he was shown briefly in Last Stand of the Wreckers. So Hasbro might market him on those lines. I love that Terrorsaur though, that would be another I'd pick up.
I'm going to go with Energon Megatron as well, but that repaint looks good. I have him in hand right now, and I totally agree with Mastodon's assessment. He's not quite G1, but he's an excellent comic rendition.
I can understand where people get the Energon Megatron idea with the similar transformation, alt mode and the new head and chest but it's unmistakeably Black Shadow. I wouldn't mind if Hasbor or FunPub was willing to retool it again into an Energon Megatron though, it's a cool idea.
Other then Black Shadow Jihaxus is the only other character I can see the mold as. Terrorsaur I think would fit the Terradive mold better, but that digi looks good as well.
What about Skybite? The first time I saw RID Skybite immediately had me thinking of Thunderwing. I always felt the Titanium seeker mold would be great for pre-Beast versions of Terrorsaur and Swoop. Given the impressive photoshop of Terrorsaur here, would Swoop/Divebomb work? What about Micromaster Treadbolt or Gigant Bomb with a head remold? Also if Terrorsaur works what about Lazorbeak, Hydra and Fractyl?
I don't think Sky-Byte would make sense as anything other than a shark or a shark shaped thing like the Botcon Sky-Byte.
