How do you go about getting that credit? I can't find a way to request that on their site

    Go here:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?skip=true

It'll have you log in, then Step 1 will have you pick which order Trypticon is in. Step 2 will have you choose the reason for contacting them (I chose "More order issues" and "Other order question or issue" and typed "Price difference refund" or something like that), then click the Contact Amazon button, then choose chat. You can then expand your reason for contacting them.

That's pretty much all it took. Make sure you give them the date of when it arrived (has to be within 7 days), the price you paid, and the current price ($101.99). Of course they'll be able to see it from your order details, but it doesn't hurt to have all your info right there for easy access.

Edit: Oh, one thing I had to clarify with the rep was that the item I bought was sold by Amazon and not another seller and the current $101.99 is Amazon's price and not another seller's. I think it was more or less just a brain fart on their part.

Well, that's slightly rage inducing from those of us who fell for that "Deal of the day."

I just emailed them about it and it looks like they are giving me a refund of the difference at least.

I've always thought it was 7 days too, but I did a chat this morning and got a refund even though mine was delivered on Dec 1. Glad they took care of us, it's pretty shitty that a 'lightening deal' during black friday wasn't the cheapest price they could sell it.

There was only one Sideswipe available from that seller. I tried adding it to my cart and it said the seller doesn't have any left.

I may have been a goof and been canceled...

Very sneaky Amazon, I just e-mailed them about Trypticon. It's strange to live in a world where the Lightning Deal isn't the lowest price of the season.

There have been a bunch of items listed by Japanese and Chinese sellers, for too-good-to-be-true prices. These are all scams, just like they do on eBay.
I ordered something back in November, and the tracking said they shipped it (whatever it is) to Florida instead of my home in Oregon. They did this to other buyers too. Fake tracking, no actual items, no responding to emails.

    DO NOT order from them.

Not the 1st time they've done this. Back when they were importing some of the Japanese DOTM stuff they did the same thing. They dropped the price on one item so much that it was worth the effort to return the one I bought more than 7 days previously and just rebuy it.

Sad that Amazon sells this to be honest...
Usually it'll say KO in the listing.

Being sold on Amazon is not the same as Amazon selling them.

I understand that, I should have said it's sad that Amazon lists them but eh they are there to collect the fees from each legitimate sale.

It's becoming more of the standard operating procedure for Amazon now. Gets to the point that you have to have camelcamelcamel to make sure a lightning deal is even actually worth it because of their continuous pricing changes. And even then, you may get completely snubbed next week like we did with Trypticon.

There's been a lot of "lightning deals" on other stuff that is actually more than their standard retail pricing on the item at times.
