Given the limited retail availability, it's a real mystery if Ollies will get Predaking. I'd wager on "No"... but who knows? I do see that Hasbro has sold 31 copies on eBay, with 60% sold off. Typically, with bigger toys, when Hasbro sells out on eBay, they do not restock (and their HTS stock goes soon afterwards). However, Hasbro is selling Predaking on other websites (like Walmart), so there could be some extra stock allocated there. If Ollies gets their stock from Hasbro, Target, and Walmart, then only one of those would have units to sell, and I don't think Hasbro has space for storing a ton of these (because they are launching TONS of products for Xmas/BB movie/etc.).

Also, a lot of 3P companies made this character YEARS ago... so there's that. I.e. A lot of fans likely already own a high-quality version, and it's been on their shelves for a few years now. I get the "I like the official version" mentality, but $160 for a duplicate combiner?

I get where you're coming from, and I support your differing opinion here... but I strongly urge you not to blame fellow fans for the failures of a corporation. If Hasbro messes up the Titans line and cancels it entirely, I would say it's not your job to make these toys desirable, and that you had nothing to do with the [poor or completely lacking] marketing campaign to push these Titans. Pricing decisions, design choices, distribution issues...

It's a complex problem, and fans waiting for Ollies is but a minor part of it (imo). I'd say that's more of a symptom, but not the actual disease. :)

you have to remember these toys are overpriced on purpose. discounts are built into the price. obviously it's not really worth $160.

It is a bit overpriced for what it is, but it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. The end result might be a bell curve on the selling price, with some people paying full retail, some paying bargain bin pricing, and most people somewhere in between.

The question is how badly you want it and if you are willing to risk the price going back up or the supply running out at this price (both scenarios probably unlikely).

When I got into the game, Devy was just about to get released. I paid full MSRP but saved on tax at least. Didn't learn my lesson yet and paid full MSRP w/o tax again on Fort Max. Finally wised up and paid half price on Tryp. That's why I'm holding out for Predaking. I only have the G1 Platinum edition so I need this update. But as others and I have mentioned, there are fewer retailers carrying Predaking. I do feel it'll get discounted, but not so confident it'll go as low as the other Titans have. I just feel like at some point, Hasbro and the retailers will eventually wise up. Can't stay in business if all your $150 products eventually makes it way to the 50+% off bins.

I’d just add: making a decision to wait for sales is a risk/reward decision. If you absolutely must have the character, waiting for a sale is dumb. If you aren’t as invested, bookmark this thread and keep your eyes open.

I’m personally here for Rodimus Prime. I want him but he’s not worth $45 to me. So I can wait and will.

    Update:
(For my Midwest homies! :lol )
So the Meijer coupon prints AFTER you make the required purchase. Spend $100, you'll get a $25 printed coupon; spend $50, get a $10 coupon - both good on FUTURE purchases (but reportedly don't have a minimum purchase requirement). These coupons will print at the register, after making the required purchase amount.

The in-store printed ad is identical to the online ad (i.e. no coupon). Not sure if you're required to be enrolled in mPerks for this.

    Target coupon tips:

    1) In-store, you do NOT need to hit exact threshold. I bought a $19.99 Lockdown and $29.99 Mosasaurus (total: $49.98), and $10 off still applied. Scan the coupon and check if the discount applied BEFORE buying extra items.

    2) Don't forget to price-match, too! For example, Kmart has SS Grimlock for $44.99. So you can price match it, grab an extra Prime Master ($4.99) and get $10 off! :)  Same discount, and free Prime Master! FYI: you can do this at self-checkout; ask monitoring employee to help (just show them competing price on your phone: takes 30 seconds to adjust price).

Here's a list of retailers Target will price match:

That is odd. So you have to have a store employee modify your purchase AFTER you buy it?

No, the coupon is for a future purchase (no minimum). It's not a discount on the items you're already buying.

We have a couple of UK Cashback site accounts for Quidco in my family and one of them is currently tracking eBay Cashback at 20%
the other it's still 1% - so if you are in the UK you might want to check your account. (the offer might end in 2 days - but I'm not certain)

Also EBay.co.uk just sent me a £10.00 off voucher code too for an eBay account I had for selling clothes I'd not used for a couple of years - and so if anyone has a forgotten ebay account you might want to check your emails for that too.

I'm as confused as you, Coybrafett! :lol  It's a pretty new thing: spend $$$ first, then earn a store coupon.

SoundwaveSuperior is correct: you make a $100 toy purchase and then the coupon printer should automatically print out a FUTURE USE coupon for $25 off of toys.

It's kind of a pain in the @$$, imo. Especially when you can theoretically go across the street to Target, and get the same discount without the future purchase BS. :sly:  But in Meijer's defense, the Target coupon is good for one week, and this Meijer deal is good for most of October! (But if you do the math: Target gets you $25 off 100 [single transaction]; Meijer gets you $25 off of $125 [2 transactions])

Over here in South Korea, a big 2-day Hasbro sale on Gmarket came and went. Nearly 67-86% off on overpriced the Last Knight toys! And MP-37 and MP-38 for 30,000 KRW/$30 with purchase of select Hasbro items! Among the eligible discounted TF items were MP-10, MPM-4, and Tribute Optimus Prime! Of course, the MPs were all sold out by the time I discovered this deal, but I bought myself TLK Leader Megatron, Voyager Optimus, and not-on-retailer-shelves Reveal the Shield trans-red Optimus for 70,000 KRW/$70.

You can take a took at what overpriced Generations-free items Gmarket Hasbro Toy Shop has.

Not really a “new thing” for stores to do. Dollar General has done something similar for years, e.g. “spend $6+ dollars and receipt has a coupon for $5 off $25+ purchase the following Saturday only (~20% off the closer to spending $25 on that day you are).” Also, Target has done deals where you spend a certain amount and they’ll give you a gift card for a certain amount during a future purchase. I believe they even have something currently going on like that when purchasing over a certain amount on LEGO figures.

Also, for Target, they have a large chunk of Star Wars black series 6” figures & sets that scan at a discount when using their app to scan the bar codes. I got the kylo ren force holding the laser set for $28.99 instead of $49.99 and the two sets of figures w/ transport creature/vehicle for $34.99 each instead of (I think) $59.99.
    225E9962-CB5F-47A9-AFCE-A6BDADC349A9.jpeg

Figures like Darth Vader came up to $14.19 or less rather than the ‘on-peg’ price of $19.99. Those prices PLUS the $25 immediate discount when edging slightly over $100 made the figures worth it to me.

Lastly, only started shipping at GameStop ~1-month ago, but found out that there are certain locations in states that are top stores and thereby offer deeper discounts than other locations. So when most stores were initially offering an additional 50% off clearance items, these too stores were offering $75% off clearance price. Some of their SW black series 6” figures ending up being ~$6, while some vehicle w/ figure sets ending up being less than $15.

(...sigh, how did I get from collecting MPs to adding these 6” marvel, dc & sw figures?? 1-year ago it wasn’t on the radar and now space is becoming MUCH more of an issue for consideration  ).

Fred Meyer in the PacNW has 30% off toys this week, scored Swoop finally.
(most of their stuff is overpriced, i.e. Deluxes $20, Legends $12, so this makes them actually priced decently)
