Starting with Recon Ironhide from the ROTF "NEST" line, Hasbro has been adding in additional weaponry for the figures in the form of these 3mm "clip" weapons, and it has been discovered that these clip weapons can be put onto other figures with the right kind of hardpoint to put them on. What I'd like to do is compile a list of these clip weapons (I.E. the three mini-weapons that attach to Generations Darkmount) and the figures that have hardpoints for 3mm clips (I.E. Lugnut, who is covered in them), because such a feature might help someone make a decision about a figure they want to buy if they know that this new multi-line gimmick can or can not be used with that figure.

NOTE: I would greatly appreciate it if anybody can provide pictures to which I can link to serve as visual example so people can see the hardpoints. Please provide pictures of any new additions you wish to make to the list, or if you can I'd like pictures for the listings already listed.

Here's what I've got so far:

    Clip Weapons
-ROTF Recon Ironhide's extra weapons (x2 knives, x2 guns)
    -ROTF Skystalker's/HftD Sunspot's "axes" (x2)
-Generations Darkmount's/Skullgrin's Missile Launcher, turret gun, smoke grenade launcher (x1 of each)
-Generations Kup (Musket-type weapon has a clip, x1)
-Generations Wheeljack's Wreches (x2, different from Track's missiles), Shoulder missile weapon (x1, also can be handheld)
-Generations Scourge's gun (the "top" part of the gun, can detach from the main barrel's clip point and form its own weapon with the clip or a flip-down handle. You remove this part from the main gun anyway when you store it away in vehicle mode)
-RtS Jazz's/ Generations book pack-in Stepper speakers (x2)
-RtS Tracks's missiles (x2), gun (x1, same as Wheeljack's shoulder missile but meant for hands because Tracks has the missiles)
-RtS Wreck-Gar/his repaints ("pinwheel axe" x1)
-HftD Tomahawk's Missile Launchers (thanks to Scantron, x2)
-HftD Breacher's/RtS Bodyblock's gun turret (thanks to thenatureboywoo, x1)
-HftD Breacher's/RtS Bodyblock's door kibble (x2, can detach and clip elsewhere, thanks to Ramrider)
-DOTM Sandstorm's/Half Track's gun (x1, clip also doubles as a great sightpiece if Sandstorm is holding the gun by the 5mm molded handle)
-DOTM Backfire's assault rifles (x2, left and right)
-DOTM Icepick's blades/skis (x2, form the back of the snowmobile seat)
-DOTM Powerglide (his hands are actually the correct size for 3mm c-clips, so you can attach the whole figure to another one with a hard point as if PG was clutching onto the other robot like his life depended on it. The handles of his missiles are also 3mm bars, so you could reverse the gimmick and attach missiles to a gun with a 3mm clip, so for example you could give Sandstorm's gun missiles with its clip and Powerglide's missiles if Sandstorm is holding the gun by the regular handle)
-Most DOTM Cyberverse figures (according to rattraprules98, many Cyberverse figures have 3mm clips on their hands, which means that they can grab onto 3mm bars like clip weapons)

    Figures with clip hardpoints/hidden hardpoints
    - Movie 1 "AllSpark Power" Landmine and repaints (gun scope, thanks to SAF7)
-ROTF Recon Ironhide (truck bed/backpack railings, various points on both arm guns, cab railings)
-ROTF Brawn/RtS Fallback (railing on alt. mode rear. Also; three bar grating plates and kick plate bar, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
-ROTF Brakedown/HftD Oil Pan (his wrists, correction thanks to Superquad7, and two points that end up right behind the head, thanks to LegoTFGuy for fiding them and rattraprules98 for confirming them)
-ROTF Scattorshot and repaints (guns, thanks to hupla)
-ROTF Mindwipe/RtS Strafe (knees, thanks to hupla)
-ROTF Bludgeon/ HftD Banzai-Tron (small machine gun barrel, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
-ROTF Lockdown/HftD Axor (pipe on hip, robot mode only, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
-ROTF Soundwave (point near where the "wings" attach to his back, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
-ROTF Dirge/HftD Jetblade (Rocket/missile rear tips, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
-ROTF Supreme Devestator (Hightower's crane, thanks to x Black Magnus x)
-ROTF HA Bumblebee ("One under each arm; the peg that locks the piece that sits under the door in alt. mode", thanks to rattraprules98)
-ROTF HA Arcee ("one on the black piece between the body and the wheel above her head", thanks to rattraprules98)
-HftD "Battle Blades" Voyager Prime (Smokestacks, thanks to Insecticon)
-HftD Sidearm Sideswipe (original and DOTM Walmart redeco) (One on each robot mode leg, they are cleverly disgused as pieces of the suspension that form the legs instead of plain smooth rungs, but they ARE useable. These are easy to find as they're sticking out from the leg, right where the leg bends "foward" for Sideswipe's unique leg structure)
-HftD Insecticon (useable point near the neck area, thanks to Mighty.Maximal)
-HftD Legends Ravage (gun tips, thanks to Stune)
-HftD Hailstorm/RtS Mindset (one hardpoint on heach launcher, thanks to PropaneProphet)
-HftD Breacher/RtS Bodyblock (bottom of doors, back "butt" flap, primary turret bar (for the gun's usual placement in alt. mode)(thanks to deceptihunter), the points where the "arm doors" attach on the arms (thanks to Ramrider))
-HftD Breacher's/RtS Bodyblock's gun (near the end of the barrels, thanks to deceptihunter)
-HftD Brimstone/Chopsaw (handlebars, thanks to hupla)
-HftD Hubcap/ the RtS repaint (the exhaust pipes on his arms)
-HftD Seaspray/RTS Deep Dive (each of the silver "rungs" on his sholders)
-HftD Terradive/ DOTM Space Case (trident handle, thanks to Scantron)
-HftD Sidearm Sideswipe (lower legs, thanks to prime13)
-HftD Tomahawk/Vortex retool (wing vulcans, thanks to ExVeeBrawn, and inbetween the "toes", thanks to SAF7. Additionally, there are hard points on each half of the tailfin shaft that end up on the arms)
-HftD Tomahawk missiles (the long missile shafts, thanks to axiom)
-HftD Ironhide (smokestacks, thanks to Ratchets Hatch)
-DOTM Skyhammer (mechtech gun/sword trigger, thanks to Sideways77)
    -DOTM Sandstorm (rollcage rails)
-DOTM Backfire (three-wheeler grill bar(the guns come packaged on this, they serve in place of his hands), two points on his legs/behind the alt. mode seat)
-DOTM Icepick (bars in front of his hands, which end up being the back of the snowmobile, and there is a hardpoint around the crotch area, thanks to AutobotMirage)
-DOTM Shockwave (two on his mechtech cannon, one hardpoint on each foot (best used for alt. mode), one hardpoint over each of the "front wheels" (these end up on his back, the hardpoint is the railing right above the two small rotating wheels). IMPORTANT NOTE: The recessed detail on the left arm, right in front of the mechtech hole where his blade goes, is NOT a 3mm hardpoint. There is not enough space for a clip to go in.) (*Update: there is a clip point on the arm blade as well, thanks to Sideways77 and Split Lip)
    - DOTM Ratchet (There is one point on each inner forearm (the bar closest to the elbow), and there are two more on the bar towards the front of the vehicle mode, thanks to SAF7 for location and description)
    - DOTM Jolt (one hardpoint in each arm and one on each upper "wing", thanks to ROTF Devestator (the user))
    - DOTM Topspin (one on each arm, thanks to ROTF Devestator, and possibly the gun barrels are workable clip points as well, thanks to Sideways77)
    - DOTM Bumblebee (the version with the spoiler and the mechtech from wave one, one hardpoint on each arm, thanks to ROTF Devstator)
    - DOTM HA Roadbuster (one on each of his missile pod arms, thanks to TornadoQuakeX)
    - DOTM Deluxe Roadbuster (estimated 6 hardpoints, one on the underside of each wrist, one on each missile pod arm, and one under each missile pod 'wings', thanks to SAF7)
    - DOTM Crankcase (footstool on the sidepanels of the doors, thanks to Sideways77)
    - DOTM Barricade (two hardpoints on each arm, behind the wheels on his arms, thanks to Sideways77)
    - DOTM Deluxe Starscream (one hardpoint on each forearm, thanks to sideswipeprime*)
    - DOTM Tailpipe (a bar on each leg near the feet, end up on the back part of the bike)

    - RtS Tracks/Generations Wheeljack (one point near each door on alt. mode underside, meant for storage of missiles/wrenches in alt. mode as exhaust pipes and can be somewhat accessed in robot mode, two on robot mode "backpack", where Track's missiles/Wheeljack's missile launcher goes)
    - Classics Rodimus and repaints (exhaust pipes on arms, robot mode only, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
    - Classics Deluxe Optimus Prime (top of gun, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
    - Classics Mirage/SE Dragstrip/Movie Fracture (center front axle, NOTE: NOT 100%, thanks to KnightConvoy)
    - Universe Ironhide/Ratchet (foward external grill on bumper, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
    - Generations "Sergeant" Kup (two hardpoints on alt. mode roof/robot mode backpack, robot mode has two points each on each side on the door kibble (the rounded bits on an otherwise flat edge on the door kibble))
    - Generations Thunderwing/ unnamed repaint (missiles on his guns, thanks to SAF7)
    - Generations Blurr (Sniper gun tip, thanks to CommanderPrime. NOTE: Clip does NOT fully close around this point so use caution if you try this)

    - Generations Scourge (the pipe-thing on his head, along with two clip points found on the undersides of his wings near the landing gear)
    - Generations Scourge's gun (the smaller gun already clips onto this point to form the tri-barreled stock configuration that looks like fracas, but can be used with other clip weapons)
    - Generations Warpath (one hardpoint on each limb, thanks to ssancho)
    - Generations Darkmount/Skullgrin (one on each half of his "backpack" that end up behind his shoulders, two clip points on his legs; left leg has the "turret hatch" and another clip point right next to it, while right leg has a clip point just below the knee and another on the foot that ends up on the alt. mode turret) *(the "handles" that are on the back of the turret and end up on the robot mode knees may also be hardpoints. Still waiting on photo verification)
    - Generations Warpath (One hardpoint on each limb; on the legs the hardpoint is in the silver box, while on the arms the hardpoint is right in front of the elbow. Additionally, thanks to SAF7 for pointing out the missile's tail can be used as a hardpoint as well)
-Generations Wheeljack (retooled legs have two "screw" like protrusions on the interior, one on each leg. These are exclusive to the Wheeljack version and are for storing the wrenches in robot mode inside the legs)
    - Alternators Jazz/Shockwave(Shockblast)/Meister(the red Jazz repaint)/ Kiss Players"Autorooper" (the gunbarrel on the storeable gun, not Shockblast's hand, thanks to SAF7)
    - SWTF V-wing (missiles, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
    - SWTF Millennium Falcon combiner (bottom turret gun can hold clip weapons, and the edge of the front landing gear as well, thanks to starman72)

    - PCC Destructicon drones (Dune buggy "fingers", thanks to GreenCream)
    - PCC Bombshock (rear cannons, thanks to Red Alert Rescue)
    - PCC Huffer/Crankcase (both smokestacks and the bumper bars by the small regular head when it's folded down. Thanks to SAF7)
    - Cybertron Lugnutz and repaints (gun and handle bars, thanks to rattraprules98)
    - Energon Strongarm and repaints (Roll Bar, thanks to Knight Convoy)
    - Energon Skorponok and repaints (hydraulics on hood/shoulders and claws, thanks to Kadrin)

    - RID Wedge ("The thicker parts of the hydraulics on the shovel", thanks to rattraprules98)
    - G1 Action Master Shockwave (gunhand, thanks to SAF7)

    - CrazyDevy Predaking head (the antenna can support clips, thanks to rattraprules98)

    RTS Lugnut

Due to the fact this guy has SO MANY clip hardpoints, I've created a special section just to list them all. Because many of them are open in both modes, I shall list the available clip points in both modes:

Bomber/plane mode: Wings have 4 clip points each (three on the underside, one on the wingtip), "engines" have two clip points each (the protrusions that look like tiny missiles), two clip points each on either side of the plane body (on the parts that become the legs, one clip point on each side is directly under the "engine", the second one is behind that clip point), one clip point on tail tip (it's mounted on the hidden missile launcher. Total: 15

Robot mode: Retains the clip points on the "engines" and the legs, along with the wing tip hard point that ends up in the middle of his hands. Missile Launcher hard point is still useable, although due to the location it might make for weird weapon placement (unless you have the tail section turned 180 and having the missile fired from his back). He also gains two clip points, hidden in the cockpit piece that flips behind his head (I originally missed these, learned about them in the review thread) Lastly, the remaining three clip points on the "undersides" of the wings are not supposed to be available in robot mode. HOWEVER, they are only covered by the two wing flaps you fold up to from the arms and hands, and these can be flipped out of robot mode position to open the clip points back up. This adds two clip points on the top of each hand and semi-opens up the clip points on his upper arms (this clip point position is still semi-blocked because the flap can not fold fowards all the way without sacrificing hand movement. Could work for backup weapon placement, though).

Robot mode clip point Total: 11
Robot mode clip point total with opened flaps: 17
Recommendation to buy this toy: EVERYBODY should own some version of RtS Lugnut. Even without clip weapons of his own, he's still highly poseable, awesome alt. mode, TWO P.O.K.E.s and he's goddamn LUGNUT. Who the heck does not like Lugnut?

    Where there are NOT hardpoints:
-DOTM Voyager Megatron (the panels that fold on top of the legs to form part of the truck cab in vehicle mode appear to have what look like bars that could support 3mm clips. These are NOT actually useable hardpoints, trying to put a clip onto the bar will only stress the plastic and possibly break it.)
-DOTM Shockwave (there is what appears to be a 3mm hardpoint inside Shockwave's left arm, right below where the blade is supposed to peg in. The truth is that there is not enough space for a clip to actually manage to get into the arm far enough to attach, so it will not work)
-HFTD Sidearm Sideswipe (originally, I had a listing for the front part of the handguns as being clip points. While clips CAN be put there, my SS's guns seem to have developed stress marks as a result of putting clips on there, so I highly recommend NOT putting clips on the guns)

Since the number of figures who can use the clip weapon system is always expanding, I would greatly appreciate any help towards making this list more complete. Especially in terms of what figures have clipoints and where those are located for those toys listed that do not have such information (such as any recently released figure/mold I haven't put up a listing for yet)). Also, if possible, it would be GREAT if when pointing out clip points that a picture is provided to help illustrate where the clip is as a visual reference.

HftD Tomahawk's missile launchers have the 3 mm clips and clip weapons can be attached to the handle of HftD Terradive's trident.

RotF Scout Scattorshots Guns are points for weapons. Mindwipes knees are good for Stalkers axes.

HFTD Sidearm sideswipe has the points on his lower legs. But they're disguised as shocks or something of the like.

Breacher's black gun can also serve for clip ports. You can clip darkmounts weapons onto Breacher's gun near the end of both barrels.

Oh yeah, the rungs on the bottom of Breacher's doors and back "butt" flap also serve as clip ports.

Cool thread. I recently made one asking which molds feature clip-on weapons. I can't find it right now, might help. I hope Hasbro continues this feature.

I agree with continuing the feature. It's a great extention to the interchangable weapons idea (like Energon weapons and the 5mm fist holes) while not actually compromising playability of the figure (such as Armada mini-con activated gimmicks)

Tomahawk's actual missiles can hold the 3mm clips too. You can combine the two launchers into a big a$$ gun.

Edit:Oops, missed that part in the first post.

I love the 5mm clip idea! It would be pretty neat if Hasbro came out with a booster pack of clip weapons to add to our arsenal.

RotF Scout Class Breakdown has the ports on his wrists much like Breacher IIRC.
