Doh! I was hoping they may have mellowed out at around the $650 mark especially during economic times like now.

It retailed for 6,500 yen (back when the yen to USD ratio wasn't so bad for the USD), and I paid about $70. So yeah. :)

What would be the price difference between a MISB and MIB?

depends really. the fact that this was limited numbers and is hard to come buy, ppl know ppl will pay around 800 bucks for a sealed one.

the difference would be the condition of the box and the figure if it was MIB. If it is loose with box, is the figure loose in the joints, and metal chipping and such.

if the going rate is around 800 for a MISB, i would say a loose with box would be around 600 maybe?

Lucky indeed. I've had my eye out for those things since day 1. I don't remember the cheapest I've ever seen one for- but I'm pretty sure I've never seen one anywhere near that low, and that I would have grabbed one at that price without hesitation.

This is a toy I would LOVE to have, but will almost certainly never have.

I'm with you very lucky indeed. If we're talking about
the exclusive die cast one that was about $180 when
1st release if my memory is correct.

    How... much?:jawdropper:

A warning from an owner to potential owners though, the paint job can be flawed, contaminants in the paint, missing paint on the grill, etc.

Upon release, I saw one of these (MISB) at my local fleamarket & he was going for like...approximately USD $95?

Even then, I found him expensive so imagine now. :lol

Do you think the price of this guy will lower in the upcoming months or will it pretty much retain the $800+ average?

I'd imagine this late after the original release the prices will stabalise, unless a cache of unreleased ones are found or someone does a decent knockoff.

I want to commit to trying to acquire a complete MISB collection of all Binaltechs. I want to get BT-17 Nemesis Prime relatively soon since I like getting the main pieces of sets/collections out of the way earlier so that collecting the remaining pieces becomes more easier.

But my main concern is shelling out the $800+ for this guy then within several months thereafter, if he depreciates considerably. I'm sure we've all been there before in one way or another with collectibles. :)

That toy has done nothing but get more expensive, although the only way is will depreciate is with loss of interest in it(with all the other new stuff coming out). But it being the so called grail of binaltechs, I think its a safe bet that he will always be coveted/ in demand and doubt you will lose any money.

^ Yeah that was the reason I finally convinced myself to shell out the $250 shipped that Bodhar was asking back in the day. I figured it was a good deal and was only going to get more expensive over time. Looks like I was right.

From $250 a little after release up to $832 a few years later.

I have never heard of anyone paying anything less than $150 and usually more like $200 back when he was first released. It usually pays to get any figure you might ever want when it first comes out, otherwise they get more difficult to locate and drastically more expensive. I do hope you find one for a decent price, but a decent price would probably be at least $600 at this point.
