I now have my very own plastic cyclopean genocidal hilarious psychopath, with all of his dakka included. Whirl and I couldn't be happier, except for the legs.

Damn Empurata taking away a decent bot's feet!

    whats with hasbro!!!

Why do hasbro make their combiner series of toys with silly hands and tiny feet.. then 3rd party have to fix them by selling overpriced bits to make them look better?
if hasbro did it right the first time no one would need these perfect combine bits...it wouldn't cost any more for them to do on the process
have they ever explained why they dont?

    just saying....

The issue is twofold. One, real poseable hands and feet (esp hands) do have lots of moving parts, which means more labor to assemble and more cost. Two, most of the CW line is sold as individuals, so they don't want to sell figures with a dedicated hand or foot because they don't even know if you're going to build that figure. Like, if you buy Air Raid, Sky Dive, Scattershot, Brawl, and Swindle, and that's going to be your custom combiner, you are gonna be kinda left in the lurch if those figs all come with feet (or all w/ left hands etc).

Hi it would be really nice to the feedback/review section have a listing in the Boards dropdown menu. It seems allot of people have either forgotten or don't know it is there. It used to be busier, not so much anymore and that is a shame.

Totally agree. Almost all the discussion for releases actually happens in the news/rumors thread anyway.

    Transformers Nutshell Reviews, Generations Arcee

    Hello,

I am attempting to do a video series where I try and keep a video under 1 minute but definitely two.

It's just talking about bots from my collection that I don't want to go into more detail like my other reviews.

Please check it out and let me know what you think.

John G's Transformers reviews: Nutshell Review of Generations Arcee.

Transformers were drawn way sleeker in the G1 cartoon then their actual toys. Modern G1 redesigns have tried to make the figures more closely resemble their cartoon appearances, but at the cost of them having different mechanics during transformation.

When it comes to mechanics, nothing but the original G1 toys seem to convert as they do.

When it comes to aesthetic, Masterpiece seems to nail it on the cross.

However, I prefer Prime Wars Trilogy even if they sometimes lack mechanic and aesthetic accuracy to G1 because they have certain tribute features. For example, Power of the Primes Evolution Optimus Prime carries an Orion Pax inside to really portray his upgrade. Or Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus, who has a small pilot in his chest to indicate that Magnus has always been an armour-bot. Or Combiner Wars Starscream, who comes with the crown he wore for 38 seconds.

My question is: Would you prefer mechanical accuracy to the G1 toys or aesthetic accuracy to the G1 cartoons? Or do you like toys that pay tribute to certain storylines?

A mix of both actually. The G1 cartoon was flawed into the designs as they were drawn, though admitedly there havent existed more awesome and awe inspiring tf designs, concept-wise since.

    That said, my question:

TR Trypticon around 100 bucks. Yey or nay?

That's a great deal. I don't personally collect supporting characters as they don't have nearly as much characterization and therefore meaning to me, personally, as the Autobot and Deception leaders, but in terms of design, Metroplex and Trypticon really blew my mind when their first showed up in the cartoon.

The ark is cool, yes. When he is robot mode he is perfect everything you’d expect that is until you try to transform him back into his alt mode. ITS A NIGHTMARE.

I purchased Trailbreaker the other day online, for £18.00 on Kapow; despite the smallness of the box, the actual toy is large enough to make the purchase a bargain - as far as I can tell, there's only one type of Trailbreaker toy
