Hey all, this thread is has anyone heard if there will be a Classics 3.0 line,
I have yet to hear anything other than ROTF and Animated,so what if the
classics are done for and we get no more.I am so stopping if that happens.
So if you know please post about it.

Maybe it won't be called Universe or Classics, but I think there's a reasonable chance such a line could happen again.

If they run into scheduling conflicts or delays with whatever movies or tv shows they're doing, Classics is something that can plug the gap. It isn't dependent on outside studios. They can do it all in house. All they need is a window of opportunity. I think the original Classics line just had a few months between the end of Cybertron and the release of the movie.

I'm praying the new animated cartoon will be based on the Classics styling. That away we're just dealing with Movie & Classics.

    Question:
Will there be a Universe 3.0, with any new-mold homages to the Unicron Trilogy, like Hot Shot? Also wondering, was the announcement of a ROTF Bludgeon and Mindwipe an intentional homage to The Chaos Trinity from The War Within, and if so, are there any plans to release a Bugly toy to complete the trio?

    Hasbro, Transformers Team:
While it is still too early to discuss our plans past Spring 2010, we certainly appreciate everyone's interest in the next iteration of the Classics/Universe line. There are plenty of great heritage characters left to do and we look forward to bringing these to you in some form or fashion in the near, not so distant future as there certainly will be plenty of surprises to come!"

My guess is it's a branding thing and not so much a toy thing.

A bit like how we had Classics but then the name got changed to Universe. So yes the Classics brand was dead but we still ended up with the same sort of figures just with the Universe logo slapped on them.

Since the Marvel line of toys is called Marvel Universe perhaps they think they are overusing the name Universe so Transformers will be called something else.

Or fingers crossed for that any way since there are a lot of great characters from the past that still haven't gotten an update in a deluxe size or larger. Plus some of the early Classics figures need an update to bring them up to the standards the Universe line had, I mean could you imagine a deluxe sized Starscream as cool as the Universe Cyclonus figure?

All I know is that I better be getting REAL Classicsverse figures instead of that crap they're putting out in the ROTF line that you know Hasbro is going to pawn off as "Classics."

Fans: "We want Classics Thrust & Dirge!"

    Hasbro: "Next year maybe."

*One Breakaway repaint and new non-Classics-seeker mold later*

    Hasbro: "There. Thrust & Dirge!"

They give you the finger and you buy the toys up anyway.

I think they intend to do what they did with Wolverine Origins, and will do with Ironman. Classics type figures with *old line* series along side *what ever the new line is called* series. In the same packaging on the same pegs.

I'm hoping they don't do that too. I want REAL Classics/Universe/Henkei stuff. I like the movie n all, but I can only take so much of that aesthetic. It starts getting old and annoying fairly quick. Classics/Universe/Henkei on the other hand NEVER gets old.

    Hahahahaha:lol .....wait that's not funny. :(

But as I stated before with Bay taking a break from doing the third movie for a bit that gives Hasbro a good gap of giving use some Classics 3.0/Universe/ New sub titled line.

Wrongo Dawg, has the first movie line of toys left your mind so quick, how
Hasbro pretty much had the movie toys on store shelves for about a year and
a half, then bout 4 or 5 months of classics and same with universe too,all
because stores like wally world and target kept asking for more more more.
So I think we won't see any classics for another year, maybe longer, hasbro
is gonna do more repaints of the ROTF line of 13 versions of skids and mudflap
before its over.Otherwise there would be leaked prototypes and hard copies
of some classics instead of just ROTF and Animated.

I doubt it with Hasbro coming out with a new series (supposedly) in 2010 I doubt the movie line will flood like it did before.

Hasbro said Universe would return in Fall 2010. At least in the deluxe scale.

It probably won't be called "3.0" because technically "2.0" isn't done.

I hope the new series is based at Hasbro and cover's bumblebee's valiant efforts to keep a bunch of aging transformers fans happy whilst still producing new toys for actual irl childrenm rather than re releasing 25 year old molds over and over again.

The series reaches a dramatic climax when bumblebee realises it is impossible to keep the faboiz happy, so he takes a flamethrower to them all.

Features The Headrmaster from TFA as the entire fandom.

I think a new Seeker mold should be a Voyager and based on the Masterpiece version. Hasbro might as well beat iGear to it as if they get away with their Prime and Megatron KO's the Seekers will surely be next on their list.

But this is Hasbro so they'll likely continue to use the increasingly dated Classics mold until it crumbles which if the QC on most of the recent releases of it is anything to go by might not be that far off.
