It's dual purpose. Could either be for Primal's chain sword from the trailer or Battletrap's wrecking ball chain.

The big slots and tabs on Magneous' shins/weapons are the same size as Bouldercrash's foot tabs and handle slots.

So I just discovered this by accident while transforming Silverbolt. That piece on his belly that surrounds the red part is just held on by four pegs and the ports they fit into are 5mm compatible. Not entirely sure how useful that is but it could come in handy for someone.

 

Had the same thing happen to me. I'm going to guess they did it to make painting the red part easier without the "teeth" getting in the way. It's just kinda funny how they used 5mm ports. It would be funny if this is in service of some strange retool none of us could foresee coming, lol.

 

I was thinking the same thing but I can’t imagine what possible retool they’d have in mind for Silverbolt. It feels like something that should have been glued into place, but I guess giving us access to a few more 5mm ports ain’t a bad thing.
