Have you purchased a ROTF toy yet, played with it for a while, and just kind off thought to your self, "This is it?" Basically, Is there a movie toy that just fell short of expectations? I really do love the Movie and Movie 2 line, but has this happened? For me it was Rampage. He looked cool, but he just fell short of expectations. He looks good in both modes, I really like him, but I feel like he could haver been better. Oh, and don't tell Rampage I said that. He's got low self esteem as it is.
Sideways. I still like him, but he is a bit of a disapointment for me. I got him as a gift, since I wouldn't buy him if it was my choice. I love all my other ROTF toys though.
^That i hate Sideways Except the vehicle mode (spot on hasbro!) But i cant wait until they make RR version.
Probably Rampage. On the other side of the coin though, I got both twins, and at first I thought they were kinda crappy. Now that I know how to transform them properly, I think they're awesome!
Rampage was a bit short on the playability, but I knew that when I bought him (I have other purposes for the con in yellow). Mixmaster has been a little of a let down for me. His arms, legs and back kibble just mean he's difficult to pose, takes up far too much shelf space due to said kibble, and well, I think his Alt. modes is faaar better than his bot mode (same goes for most of the RotF toys actually, especially the Constructicons. although, I think that's due to a new found love for construction-based toys ever since I got my KO G1 Dev.).
I picked up Arcee, and while walking around in Target, i said to myself - "Self, you're not even going to be terribly impressed with whatever half-assed way these three bikes combine. And it definitely won't be worth their weird solo bot modes. PUT IT BACK AND GET MIXMASTER." Did. Was happy. Who wants my Chromia?
Chromia is shit. Period. Other than that, I was dissapointed with Rampage. Neat concept, but needed work.
I'll go with the general consensus on Rampage. Soundwave was another one. Off-topic, Letdown would be a great Transformer name. He'd be Lockdown's lazy loser of a younger brother still living at home with his mom even though he's 1,000 stellar cycles old.
I actually like Chromia alot more than I thought I would..I like the design in the movie, but thought I wouldn't like it as a toy. Bought it because of the rumored combination, but now that I have it, I like it so much, I don't really care about the combining thing anymore, and will pick up all three no matter what happens. I have a love-hate relationship with Sideways. One day I think he's way overrated, then the other day I really like him. Soundwave..it was clear from day one that his robot mode would be toy only, it just had too many nods to his G1 self, too good to be true. He is small, his chest keeps flopping in, and a sattelite isn't very cool as a toy, either. (although it's clever for the film!) Bumblebee, because of the fact the mold is so degraded I can't even fricking transform him into car mode!
Yeah, Rampage is cool, but the appeal dies rather quickly. Took it back to TRU yesterday for collateral against a HA BB.
Ravage and the Fallen. I bought into the hype all the people on the board built up for these two figures. I feel Ravage is kinda "meh". The Fallen is just..."Blah". Those aside, I actually love the movie figures.
I would have to say Mixmaster is my let down. I liked it at first because I was telling myself to. Now that it's been up on my shelf for a few weeks, I look at it and think, "That's crap!"
sideswipe.... but thats only because i saw sooooo many pics of him i already knew everything about him when i took him out if the package...
Got to join the Sideways crowd. Conversely, my absolute favourites (I can't choose) are Starscream and Scalpel.
every transformer toy gets boring after a day or two for me, which is why i didn't go completist on movie 2 and only got the main characters
I guess Sideways, but I didn't expect him to be that great. I didn't think he was going to be anything special and he wasn't, he was just, that.
Poor Sideways. I picked the guy up yesterday, and I love him. He had trouble standing up, so I ignored the directions and positioned his ankle panels to where he uses it to balance himself. He made my list of tf Favorites! As for Rampage, yeah, he's a good not great kind of toy.
