His head colors are completely reversed and he has more white than a snow storm at the North Pole! I'll get pix up in a few minutes. Did I get a crappy unpainted toy or is everyones Blazemaster like this? On a side note, Deluxe Jolt's "tire knees" are only half black as well. Wave 4 Deluxes: Revenge of the Unfinished Paintjobs!
Blazemaster's box Notice his Gold colored legs, his gold head with blue facemask, and lack of white throughout. Blazemaster himself Notice how his legs are white, his head is blue while his fascemask is gold, and there's white plastic everywhere. Needs a major paintjob upgrade! Also, here's Jolt's legs that I was talking about. Notice how the black paint only goes to the center of those "tires." The pic on his box shows the black paint twice as wide. I'm a big stickler for paintjobs, and Blazemaster is a disappointment in that department. Might just get a gold Sharpie and paint every white part gold. jolt's legs can be fixed with a black Sharpie easily.
Somewhere on the box it should say "Actual product and colors may vary" or something to that extent. There is your answer.
I knew someone was going to say that, but Blazemaster looks so much different he might as well be a repaint of the boxart. I can't say the lack of paint is a bad thing though because it gives me something to do. Repainting figures make me enjoy the figure more.
Personaly, I like the toy's colors better than the box art, personaly. Also, it could be considered a humorus homage in a way, as the original Blaze Master was innacurate to his own promotional pictures! Blaze Master - Transformers Wiki
In order to entice sales, Hasbro "doctors up" all the photos they put on packaging. All of them. It was determined that the Blazemaster that went onto said packaging was more appealing than the one that went in it, to entice sales. They may have changed up the look for any number of reasons... Cost, safety, cost, "We like it better this way now", "We have extra ______ so we'll use it up here" (like Allspark blue on Universe Ironhide that they never did do a running change for). And they can do all of that with the simple disclaimer "The thing on the back of the box isn't necessarily the exact same thing that's inside the box"
Hmmm. Another case of the photo-adjusted box art. Mine is the same way as your actual toy, I just never noticed how bad because I threw the box away before I even transformed him.
Most of us are use to the box art not matching the figure. But the fact that the head colors are actually reversed is kinda trippy. That's a new one to me anyway...But then maybe I just haven't been paying attention. lol
Photoshop doesn't account for the colour placement differences, though. In that case, it's just a matter of the final deco differing from the hand-painted master.
