eh, I just looked at him and raised his arm. I see what you're talking about, the hinge is back further, but it doesn't put his wrist at his face, that's a bit of an exaggeration. Still doesn't bother me though, he's a great figure, especially at the TRU sale price.

Yes, he's awesome. Plus he's not a parts former that has to comine with a trailer to be cool.

It's been a while since I've got rid of him, but it wasn't meant to be much of an exaggeration

Honestly the best way to picture it is him trying to punch someone and his fist is where his elbow should be. (That' puts his face about even with his forearm, just above the wrist. )

It's something that just about everybody glosses over when talking about Ultra Magnus. It's why you don't see any awesome pictures of him with his arms up. He's always just standing there.

You should only let it stop you from buying it if you think it would bother you. It's a very impressive looking figure- as long as his arms are down. At the very least he's better than a star wars transformer. I really wanted to like him, and if I'd seen a way to fix him I would've and I'd be right with all the people demanding that you buy him. It just bothered me too much, and hardly anybody talks about it so I figured I'd warn you.

(If somebody that still has the figure wanted to be helpful, they could post a pic of what I'm talking about. People might not think it's that bad.)

Arms down normal pose

arm out

arm out straight, face looking forward

Still a complete badass

I never noticed it before, that his arms look short when they're straight out, I guess I just never pose him with his arms straight out. It really doesn't bother me. I see what you're saying, his elbow ends up by his face which is proportionally wrong. But I thought you were saying his wrist/hand ends up near his face, which I don't see that.

All in all I find him a great figure, very solid and durable, and fun to transform. Plus I love that he's got guns all over that can pop out like Leader Brawl has.

In the end it comes down to whether you like the character and toy and whether you feel he's worth it. For the $20. I spent at TRU I feel he's very much worth it.

Cool. Again, it bothers me but that doesn't mean it'll bother somebody else.

And I'd hate to think he picked the millenium falcon former over Ultra Magnus because of it.

yeah the SW TF's all seem to suck. I keep getting lulled into buying one, and within minutes of opening the package I'm full of nerd rage over how awful the figure usually is. I keep giving them away, then a few months later I'll end up buying another one. I've stayed away from the Marvel line for this reason, even though The Hulk TF does seem really cool.

Ultra Magnus has GOT to be better then any SW TF that's been released so far.

yeah. but the millennium falcon han solo/chewbacca has more sentimental value for me, more than ultra magnus, so i'd rather go with that

Who else would kick a guy for eating icecream?

Thanks for the pics. It's just something people tend to gloss over. I'm an articulation junkie, and Magnus just begs to be posed beating the crap out of something. It's hard to get dynamic poses out of him when his arms shorten by half their length when he raises them.

I definitely was remembering it worse than it is.

I have to admit, if I ever found him on clearance for $20 or less I'd probably get him again. He'd still be on the 'try and fix me' list, though.

I have the original Blue Animated Ultra Magnus. And he's one of the best on that line. Just an awesome, awesome figure.

Don't Pick-up the Roadbuster repaint.
