Sir, I would like to hear what you have to say on the matter and perhaps subscribe to your magazine where possible. I think we're of like mind. It's true. It's damn true. Pretenders transform...
The toy's grown on me a bit...but I'm waiting for the final version to see how the $100 price tag can be justified. As it stands right now, it seems the overall size of the figure and appearingly simplistic transformation make it worth no more than $50 in my mind. I could see $100 being fair if Devs wows me with features (which I usually don't prefer over a complex, detailed figure) or if he actually turns out to be 2 feet tall (unlikely), but as of now the only features we know of are sounds and the mouth opening, sucking feature (there could be a whole other market for this). I don't see enough yet to justify $100.
I really really really want to buy the gift set. But for £100 over here it is not worth it. Besides Armada Unicron - £60 new £10 in the discount stores 2 years later Energon Omega Supreme - £50 new £20 in the discount stores a year later Cybertron Primus - £50 new £25 in the TRU sale after shelf warming for a year (kicks myself for not buying 2) Masterpiece Prime £50 new £25 in the TRU sale a year later Masterpiece Prime with electronic base - £70 new £35 in the TRU sale + in a 3 for 2 offer. Ultimate BB - £80 New £40-£50 in the Argos Sale SW Millennium Falcon - £150 new £75-£100 in Tesco Sale There is a very distinct pattern here with over expensive toys so it is a certainty that they will overproduce Devs and under sell him. The Devs giftset is competing with the Nintendo DSi, Wii, Xbox 360, guitar starter packs, bikes, etc etc. Given the economy, I can’t imagine too may parents willing to blow that sort of cash on him when they can get a Console to entertain the whole family for a bit more.
I don't like him. I am not warming up to the $100 "Megazord" toy that everyone hates, but I do love the Legends toy of him. I'll buy THAT on sight, but not the big ugly $100 that represents a missed opportunity. I have my Rampage toy sitting on my desk. He is transformed into a pseudo "limb" that could probably connect to Demolishor if they both had some extra tabs or connectors. Clearly Hasbro didn't have time to add those tabs, joints, or whatever, and missed a perfect opportunity. Their loss and ours I guess.
I like him.People need to stop complaining. One,they don't have him. Two,we havn't even seen a reveiw of him
I'm still not interested. I don't buy too many figs larger than voyager as it is. Add that to the no individual robot modes and it kind of kills this guy for me. I am looking forward to the legends class version though.
I just pre-ordered this. I will have more bang for my buck this way. Plus I'll probably help my fellow collectors with selling my extras.
I will not buy the non-transforming Devastator even if it goes on sale. I don't buy Robot Replicas or vehicle replicas and I only buy toys that transform.
getting him regardless!!people need 2 get off of the g1 dev.this is mr bays transformers like armada or beast wars!!!6 vehicles form a big ass robot!!! o k damn get over it!!! still going 2 try 2 build him out of the individuals though !!! every one keep their finger crossed tightly!
