Hey I just paid $34.00 for a New Henkei Optimus Prime. It was already in the U.S. so I only had to pay $8.00 for shipping. This was the cheapest (there was one for 24 something, but it was in China so I would have had to pay 20 something for shipping) I could find it.

So anyway my question is, is this a good price.

P.S. Sorry if I should know this, but I'm new to collecting.  

 

Sounds good to me (I think I paided around the same), but it only really matters if you're happy. He's a great figure BTW. One of my top five Primes.

 

I collect Henkei from the UK, so the prices are going to be a bit different, but to me that's a good price.

Actually, since it's a Voyager, that's pretty cheap the way things are going with the economy right now. With the exchange rate and price hikes by the independent stockists, we're paying more like what would be 40-45 dollars for Henkei Voyagers in the UK. It sucks.

So yeah, a good price.

Yeah with movie coming out I started looking at forums to get the latest news. When I came here I started seeing all the cool pics you guys have of your collections, then I found my old G1 Optimus Prime I got when I was 4 (missing his left arm mind you), and the G2 Optimus Prime I got latter to replace him (now missing his right fist. I would use my G1's fist but its blue, and my G2 is kind of a dark purple.), and then seeing the Fans Praject's Powered Convoy, and City Commander addons I just had to have him. So yes as soon as I get him I think I will be very happy!

The only thing that scares me is that I now find myself looking at all the other Transformer Toys, and thinking "that looks cool maybe I should get that too"!

P.S. Dose anyone know when the Fans Project is going to start sell the City Commander stuff, and if there going to sell a Powered Convoy repaint?

 

You did fine. One of the best Henkei IMO.

The chrome is actually in the right spot unlike some Henkei. lol

 

its a great figure.. i dunno about US prices, coz theyre much more than over here, but i still say good job on buying it... its one of my all time favorite primes.. probably only behind MP prime

 

$42 total? Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good price.

I've had the Classics version since it came out, but if I wanted the Henkei version, I'd be paying $45 + sales tax at a store over in Chinatown.

 

I wasn't going to buy one but I spotted one for $34 shipped and I got it. Glad I did. He is a great figure.

 

The City Commander was released quite a while ago, so you'd probably have to get it off someone on eBay, which would be very expensive unfortunately.   Unless you can find an online store that still has stock available. It was very popular, so they're likely to be all sold out by now.

The Powered Convoy version is going to be an exclusive at the Canadian TFcon Transformers convention. So that means that you'd have to go to the convention, or again, get it at an inflated price on eBay.

I guess that it's possible that Fans Project might do another production run of City Commander in the future, since they came out with these repaints of it. Who knows. I wouldn't wait though, if you really, really want it.

 

Ugh, i paid $49 for optimus on BBTS. And that doesn't include shipping - but i honestly didn't find him anywhere else online for cheaper. Then again, i like to combine my purchases so i also got inferno and astrotrain at the same time. I definitely paid too much, but, at least BBTS is usually really good with their shipping quality and timing.

OP - where'd you find that deal? I'm looking to get some more henkei, but the ones i want are hard to find at a single location.

If you look it up on there sit then click on the "6 new" button it will give you a list of other stores. At the very bottom of the list is a store called TISINC99. That's where I got it.

Funny story after seeing it there I went to TISINC99's web site to see if it would be cheaper to buy it direct from them, and it wasn't even listed of there site! LoL. All I know is that I got an E-Mail last night say that it had been shipped that day. So they have to have at lest so in stock!

 

Oh boy TISINC99, you NEED to do a search and read up on them right now dude. The horror stories about them. They got me once a while back because I didn't know any better.
Ask around, I know people on here that have been ROYALLY screwed by them. Take a good look at their horrendous BBB rating.

If you get lucky enough to get out of this deal unscathed, I wouldn't suggest using them again because you WILL get screwed eventually.

nope i think you paid WAY to much. i got mine off here LOOSE for $15 and paid $10 for the P+P. isnt BBTS selling Henkei Prime for lik $20 now?

 

Oh god, good thing i didn't use them. I was THIS close to ordering stuff through them, but at the last minute decided to look around some more. I ended up buying some more on Toyarena. We'll see how that goes. I haven't seen anyone give any negative feedback on them yet during my searches. So, knock on wood.

I don't have any love for the mould, but Henkei Prime does look nice next to the classics. IMO, he'd look better with all the chrome just silver paint instead. It would match better and just look better.

 

It's still going for around $40, on ebay and the cheaper online retailers, without shipping. BBTS has it for $49.

 

I got mine for a little over $36 including shipping when it came out.

You can get him from HLJ for about $39 shipped. They are overseas so it'll take a little longer for it to arrive.
