I recently purchased C-888 and some sort of Sonic Bomber repaint. I was recently informed that C-888 was released in two versions?! Apparantly there is a crappy version that has a blue bat symbol on the wing of Dai Atlas and a better quality one that dosnt have the bat symbol. I have not received it yet and all I have is this picture. Can anyone confirm that there are two diff quality C-888s out there and can anyone tell me if this this is the better version? Did both come in the same exact box? A guy on Ebay is selling both versions right now and I asked him to compare the quality of the two...he was somewhat reluctant. Can anyone ID this Sonic Bomber for me as well? Is it a Brave series version or something?
id like to get one of those just for the fact that there cheaper than the originals but everytime ive seen one lately ive had no moneyz
Haven't looked at mine in a while but yeah, that looks like the box mine came in. I was supposed to get the "superior" version but was conned into buying the "Bat Symbol" one in a bait and switch scam. I can't comment on the "superior" version because I never got it. It does exist though, I know that for sure. Did you buy yours from the same scammer that sold me mine?
What is so bad about yours? Does it seem breakable due to cheap plastic? Im hopling mine is the one with Autobot symbols...If you look carefully you can see the wing "I think" and what apears to be the red stripe with yellow squares? The bat wing one just has a red stripe dosnt it?
Very cheap and very thin plastic. Very loose construction like a lot of KOs. As far as KOs go the quality is low even for a KO. Mine was also VERY used, dusty and didn't work. Pieces were missing. It was advertised as a brand new & sealed version of the other "better" version that had Autobot symbols and a slightly different color scheme(more faithful to the original toy).
I have the bat wing KO, and I like it. The plastic's a step up from the Big Lots KO's, a step down from regular Hasbro/Takara figures. All the accesories were with mine. In fact, the only thing bad about it was the Micromaster figure that came with it....he WAS garabage.
I have the good C-888 KO (and am willing to sell it). The plastic quality seems very good, almost legit. The box was in pretty bad shape, though. I don't remember if I threw it out or not.
I had the one with Autobot logos instead of bat logos.... and it's STILL not up to much. You may luck out, but don't get your hopes up on plastic quality, or the motorized features working correctly.
I really have no idea, but I did a quick search on e-bay and this is the only result: Takara Japan Hiryu Might Gaine NMIB Sonic Bomber C-347 - eBay (item 350141633585 end time Mar-16-09 14:16:30 PDT) This one is the Japanese original. As I said previously, yours appears to be a Korean release manufactured by Sonokong and licensed by Takara. What's it worth? As an uneducated guess, approximately $50-100 usd. Though I'm probably wrong on that.
I have a real one but I got my son the C888 one a few yrs. back @ Botcon for like $10, The plastic and quality was poor like many KO's but the thing that I could not believe was the electronics work lol.. As for different ones having different quality this is the 1st I have heard this.
Well, I got it today and Im super pleased to say that it dosnt have the bat wings!!! It has all the original stickers including the Autobot symbols. The quality seems fine to me. Good plastic and tight joints. IDK what everybody is complaining about but obviously I got the good version. Sonic Bomber is awesome as well. Glad to hear this is not a KO!!! For $80 this was quite a deal considering how Ive seen the bat wing version sell for $127-$150 right before I bought mine on E-Pay. Plus I got the Sonic Bomber with it for free basically! Im quite happy now I can sleep. I'll put pics up ASAP...
