What's your policy on them? I mostly tolerate them, except for anything under the Classics/Universe banner, love them. I'm getting Sunstorm, because of the lack of a full-sized Thundercracker, and I'm getting the Shockwave repaint because it looks so much better.

But I passed on Stealth Lockdown and Rescue Ratchet because they were mediocre molds, with mediocre paint jobs.

So, what's your usual tolerance policy.

I like them sometimes. Sometimes it's lame to have to go to a different store to get a figure you want but sometimes it's cool because if a store hadn't arranged for it to be an exclusive the figure probably wouldn't even exist, ie Target's Universe Nemesis Prime (Big Prime Repaint).

either way I love it when they make a figure into an exclusive using a mold I missed such as the Universe 2.0 2 packs they had at Target recently. Those were awesome.

i generally like them...will not pick up ones i already have...Unicron is a fine example of hasbro not jumping on a chance to make unicron more "show accurate"...passed on him since he is a exact copy of the armada one i have....

Target here never had the two vs packs of universe...glad i went to ebay before they went for sale....

I get what I like. And if it happens to be a store exclusive, so be it.

I love repaints, always have. Not even sure Why...but I'll buy and display them over the original. I think it has something to do with the capacity to redub them as their own character, rather than being restricted to just what the bio says. I'm weird like that :)

I don't like store exclusives. I started hating them back while collecting the POTF2 Star Wars line. They're an inconvenience to collect. Eventually I just stopped competing with scalpers for them and let them pass by. They played a major role in me becoming less of a completest collector and going for a more casual approach to this toy hobby.

There's both good and bad store exclusives..don't mind them, although I wish they were less 'rare'.

It depends its an amazing chance to do some cool homages with out flooding the market with repaints like the Wal Mart and Target movie repaints but some times you do just get some WTF crap

Another cool point is that some times you can have a chance at getting cool designs again like with the first universe Nemesis Prime I wanted a Big Convoy for so long and them BOOM a extra awesome repaint of the guy.

What I dont really enjoy are the Japanese exclusives since they often do a really cool job but they cost an arm and a leg once their on Ebay

Eh. I treat them the same as any other TF purchase. Has nothing to do with it being an exclusive, or if I'd bought that mold already. If the repaint fits the character, then I'll buy.

That said, the only store exclusives I have that are going up on my shelf are Fracture- which is being modded into Arcee, and Unicron- which is getting painted.

I passed on the Target 2-packs. I'm adamantly against supporting the idea that Energon/Cybertron repaints work within the Classics/Universe line.

Edit: I guess Henkei Thundercracker counts as a store exclusive. I naturally have that on my shelf.

I'm all for store exclusives, I just wish certain stores were more convienently placed....it takes me at least an hour and a half to get to the nearest Target. It took me three trips to finally find the Roadbuster/Dirge two pack.

I feel as it is unfair to those that don't have that particular store around them.

Eh, if it's a new character and I like the mold, I'll pick them up. I bought the Jetfire/Jetstorm pack and am impatiently awaiting Sunstorm's release (though I could do without the Activator figure that bumps up the price, since I don't buy that line). I was originally intending on buying the Shockwave repaint, but I like the one I have so I'm passing and looking for another original Shockwave to be my Long Arm for Animated. Normally I don't buy repaints of characters already released, period, so the Lockdown and Ratchet repaints weren't on my radar at all. Same with the movie line.

I'd prefer they didn't exist, but on the other hand, they're much better than Botcon exclusives. With store exclusives, at least they're more affordable and more widely available.

I have no problem with them, in general, and usually just pick up the ones I like or any molds I missed the first time around that are getting a better colour scheme. Looking at specific stores, I really like Target's store exclusives. Beyond the fact they tend to get the best exclusives to begin with, Target exclusives almost always go on heavy clearance, so I can save money by either waiting to buy them or buying them early and saving my original receipts. Toys R Us tends not to get very good exclusives, as far as I've noticed, with TFU Darkwing being the only one they've had in a long time that I'm even remotely interested in. Wal-Mart tends to get some OK exclusives, but nothing spectacular, and my local stores used to have a problem with not getting the figures in any decent quantity (Classics Devastator, MP Starscream, the last two Alternators, etc); the distribution problem has improved a little, fortunately.
