like the title say, what tf 2 toys are you going to repaint and in to what. here's what i'm going to do, i dont have that many: sideswipe - g1 tracks skids - g1 skids, maybe constructicons/devastator - not if i have to pay 100$ well please say what toys you are going to repaint.
I don't think I'd do many repaints, but more along the lines of ink washes and detailing. Bringing out the subtle details on plain-colored plastic is fun, and really adds to an already good figure. My targets so far are: Breakaway - needs depth in that odd gray/blue plastic Sideswipe - shadowing the face and arms in bot mode will make him stand out Soundwave - plain plastic that'll look so much better with the 'premium' treatment
I will do the cast all in movie correct colors. Drybrushing the works. Same thing what happend to the original movie cast (2007) iDD
When I get $100 devy, I'm going to add details such as dirt and crome. I like the toy, but it is severely lacking paint apps and details. Since it looks like hasbro is using shiny paint the first time around on most of their toys, (Sideswipe, Sideways) there doesn't look like there will be a premium line, so we will get nicely painted figures right off the bat. However, I would love to get a red Sideswipe.
I'm planning on repainting the Preview Bumblebee figure as Cliffjumper, and whatever larger figure we get for Springer as my fan character Raven-XL7 (digibashes of those two ). I'm also thinking about getting Devastator and adding plenty of detail. Mostly black and silver with some brown for mud, and then a black wash over pretty much everything.
This. Not a single movie figure I own has not been painted except for premium Jazz. Plus, there's just so much fine detail that you can't not paint them. The movie figures are a customizer's dream come true, to me. they just stand out so much with the details painted. If I do decide to get Devastator on sale, I will again paint all his details and add grime, dirt and scratches.
