BotCon 98 Arcee are 2 completely different Arcees.

You're confusing the 2, look closely. There is a huge difference.

& no you wouldn't be able to buy 8 of them for the same price as the one custom, Dolza_Khyron.

point?" (assuming the custom was mass produced by Hasbro/Takara)

& yes, I would like the character to maintain the BotCon 98's sexiness, b/c well, it was sexy. Arcee was an attractive looking female-bot in G1, you can't blame her for having curves, she was just drawn that way. You compare proportions of the two figures & you'll notice what I mean.

But you raise a good point, Botcon 98 does look a little bigger. That said, I want to now change the question, since most of you have already done that anyway, & rephrase it,

"If BotCon 98 contest winner Arcee were massed produced, packaged & sold as a deluxe Universe figure & you had the choice buying it or the TFA Arcee, which would you rather buy based on appearance, looks & design?"

Yes, I know they would technically be at 2 different price points, but let's not consider money for the moment. Say you were buying the figure strictly based on appearance, looks & design of the toy. Which would you buy?

If it were released as a Universe Deluxe (and at that $11-$13 price point), I probably would simply because it's a part of the line.

Can't say I'd be too happy with it though. While it is finally a G1 Arcee, I find the transformation to be really lame. Her legs fold up and she hides under the car hood. That's it.

I may be partial to it and it is an unabashedly biased answer, but I'm sticking with my custom. Which I just may be finishing up modification on tomorrow, and hopefully prep it and paint by the end of the month. It's time I start a new project.

You sir have the best response imho. When I first saw this thread I thought it's pretty pointless. Of course people will say the custom if they are at the same price point. But you know what. Making a figure like the Custom Arcee will never be at the same price point. I admit the custom is really nice but to my eyes that's what is. A custom.

Love Arcee. My first crush. Hell. My wife even knows about Arcee. (She is one of five transformers that she can name and ID. Let me tell you, as a husband, that is a proud moment when your wife knows about your precious toys.)

As a fan who has waited, what? 23 years for toy of Arcee...there has honestly never been a good Arcee toy made. The Binaltech one was very disappointing. The motorbike one was boring. The animated Arcee is a good effort. Honestly, the best so far.

The custom Arcee is great. But it too is missing something. I don't know. I just want a good Arcee toy.

I am eager to see what Kusanagi does with his Arcee. Good luck on your project! Let's hope you can make several of them, so eager fans can have a change to get one too. (Hint, hint).
