Not to sound like a dick, but isn't the fact that the factory labels appear on a separate sheet a dead giveaway that this is a knockoff...?

Wow, I am so glad I'm not a G1 collector. But so far it looks like you got lucky.

Did Metroplex have any factory stickers? I thought they were all on the sheet.

Only factory stickers would be the chrome leg ones on the plastic wheeled G1 version

Not unless they've changed the Encore version from the way things were with the original Metroplex. o_O

The original G1 Metroplex (or at least the rubber wheel one) had several factory-applied stickers: the red ones running along the sides of his legs, the blue tower windows on the back of his arms, and the "Helipad" stickers hidden inside the left half of his chest. I remember this from my childhood toy and recently confirmed it after I bought a near mint, unused, rubber-wheeled Metroplex body online. They're the ones on the bottom sheet here:

Here's Botch the Crab's scan of Metroplex's instruction sheet:

Notice how none of those stickers' applications are shown in the labeling guide at the bottom.

I'll admit it's thoroughly possible I'm wrong or that this was simply true of early run Metroplexes or the rubber tire version or the North American version of the toy. It's possible the Japanese ones had no factory stickers or this is a deliberate change in the encore release.

If I'm reading all the info right thats the same stamp as the fake Metroplex. But yours has "rivets" on the screw for the wheels, I think the Chinese may have made a change to the fake Metroplex.

They do indeed. Looks like mine is real then and the issues I have are just poor Takara quality control. I notice that your wheels also hang a bit loose too on it too. Thank you for your help.

But here is an interesting one. If we look at D Units thread about his fake Metroplex the issue about the Serial Stamp font and character spacing on the back of the box is a red herring. The brackets / box around the KO stamp are still an issue though. He compares the stamp font and character spacing on the KO Metroplex to the Encore Omega Supreme. Now my Encore Omega Supreme stamp is a different font and spacing to my Encore Metroplex, but then my Encore Metroplex has the same font and spacing as yours although it is a different serial number.

The rear stamp on the toy matches up too. My toy’s stamp lettering is a sharp as yours but the photo I used makes the top 1985 lack definition.

Thus having the H2208 Serial Number Stamp with close space character spacing and slim character is not an issue, as this simply appears to be the stamp type for the Encore Metroplex. This is obviously just a different stamp type being used compared to the Encore Omega Supreme. It is just unfortunate that the KO’s used the H2208 which I guess was the first batch?

Looks like mine is genuine. Just poor Takara QC on parts and issues inc wheel fit, rub sign and the torso area. Hopefully though the posts in this thread will help others by providing clear identifiers for the genuine ones.
