Don't really have an overall policy. It's more of a figure-by-figure decision. Though there are some things that I think of when looking at each figure and trying to decide if I want it or not:

    1. Whether or not I already have a figure for this character.
    2. How the figure looks in all of it's modes.
    3. If the figure will fit in with the rest of my collection.
    4. Whether or not this is a new version of an older character, or a completely new one.
    5. The size class of the figure.

Stuff I find and like. So, it all depends on what I find, and deem worthy of purchase. So far I have RotF preview Soundwave already, and Sideswipe looks great. If there are non-BB Human Alliance figures, I might get those too.

I'll pick up combiners and whatever looks cool to me. I'm not one of those collectors that has to have everything in the toy line.

    Please Hasbro. No protoforms....

I'm going to avoid the rush right out and get them mentality this time around, for sure. Waiting for the inevitable repaints in the line I may want more, and also for stuff to go clearance at stores or BBTS and save a few bucks.

Of course this will all go out the window when I see them in stores the first time, yeah?

The only certainties is Sideswipe and Soundwave.

I'm hopeful about Jetfire and Devastator. The rest... we'll see. I'm a little burned by the movie line because I would have been better off waiting for just about every toy I picked up because of superior version released later or a potentially better version released with the RotF line. It sort of leads me away from the path of a completionist.

If I like what I see, I'll get it. Otherwise, I have a lot of TF's on my to-buy list on the secondary market.

I will try to stick to the legends. Other than that, I will get:
    -Every version of soundwave
    -Voyager starscream
    -A few FABs
    -New characters in deluxe/voyager class

Buy new characters no matter what.

Buy more movie accurate versions of characters I already have (new Leader Prime mold, new Ironhide retool, etc.)

Buy stuff I just think is cool (FAB Megatron).

    Buy ALL Robot Heroes.

    Buy ALL Legends.

    Buy ALL Scouts.

None, unless they come out with some form of Shockwave.

Honestly, i want to concentrate more on TFA and Henkei

Buy any- and everything I feel rocks, then, when I have it all and need to feed my plastic crack addiction, might buy some repaints or remolds I don't think I really need.

edit: oh..and no FAB or most of the sub-lines..I don't really like those.

Having skipped almost the whole TF1 movie line gives me a lot of options for picking up improved bots (without feeling ripped for buying the first run).

At the moment my only definite buys are every major release of Megatron they make (FAB, Voyager and Leader). Probably the new Leader Prime, and maybe some others. I don't plan on going gun-ho on this line.

the first film i was going to buy just on screen characters and in size comparisons.

i ended up with the ENTIRE movie line. repaints, scouts, the whole line but FABs and lower.

i'll probably do the same thing around this time. i am a sucker.

Agreed, the only bright spot in the entire TFTM line was Fracture.

I am just going to get new cast and the few I did not get from the first line. I will probably not buy them right away but I am not wanting to get much from this line.

Does anyone, other than me, think that only Movie Premium is worth getting for the on-screen characters, because thats really the only time they appeal to me, though the non-screen characters I think they're all pretty good quality.

I have no policy for buying the ROTF line except that I don't plan on purchasing it save for Skywarp (the 3 original seekers in movie form, why not?). The only exception to that would be if after pics and some plentiful reviews of a figure I decide I just gotta have it. I suspect that Sideswipe, Jetfire and maybe Soundwave might fit into that category but I'll see.
